Jason Alexander has had a reputation for being a diva because of his reported off-screen clashes with the writers and fellow costars. Although the extent of his clashes with the Seinfeld creatives is hard to pinpoint, the actor did once threaten to quit the show over a trivial matter, which seems on brand for George in the show.
Interestingly, Alexander had several moments when he was frustrated with the show’s direction. In addition to threatening to quit in season 3, he also expressed his issues with one acclaimed episode from season 4.

In the "Seinfeld" episode "The Bubble Boy", George (Jason Alexander), his girlfriend Susan (Heidi Swedberg), Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld) and Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) go on a road trip to a lakeside cabin in upstate New York belonging to Susan's parents. Before they go, though, Jerry is stopped by a man in a coffee shop who recognizes him (Jerry is a famous comedian in the universe of the show). The man entreats Jerry and his friends to visit his son Donald (Jon Hayman), who would appreciate a visit from a celebrity. Donald is sensitive to germs and has to live in an airtight plastic tent to avoid getting sick. Jerry, being very rude, immediately begins calling the kid "Bubble Boy."
When the road trip finally begins, George is a road warrior, and pushes through the trip as quickly as possible. He arrives at Donald's house early. The extra time forces George and...

One of Seinfeld’s very best episodes found the gang ditching New York City and venturing upstate for a weekend at Susan’s father’s cabin. Along the way, they stop over at a nondescript small town to visit a “Bubble Boy” on his birthday — although he turns out to be a vulgar young man (voiced by adult comedian Jon Hayman) who lives behind a plastic divider due to an unspecified medical condition.
The Bubble Boy has to be rushed to the hospital after getting into a physical fight with George over a game of Trivial Pursuit. In response to the history question “Who invaded Spain in the 8th century?,” the Bubble Boy confidently answered “The Moors.” But George claimed that he was wrong, citing the answer on the card, which clearly read “The Moops.”

Every season creator and star Larry David says that he’s ending the show but this time it seems it’s real.
“As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be – the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character,” said David. “And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”

HBO chief Casey Bloys says Larry David will decide if Curb Your Enthusiasm season 12 will be the last season. Larry David has an open invitation to continue the show, but it's up to him to decide. Bloys predicts that Larry will make the decision on whether to continue or end the series before it airs.
HBO chief Casey Bloys addresses whether Curb Your Enthusiasm season 12 will be the final season of the show. Premiered in 2000, the sitcom created, written by, and starring Larry David has delivered intermittent seasons following a semi-fictionalized version of himself facing a constant barrage of life's little annoyances. Earlier this year, a producer seemingly confirmed that season 12 would be the show's last, though that tweet has since been deleted and debunked by an executive producer.

It’s the never-ending question. Will the upcoming season of Curb Your Enthusiasm be its last? HBO chief Casey Bloys addressed that when asked at the network’s programming presentation this morning.
“We generally leave that up to Larry, and I think he’s thinking about what he wants to do,” Bloys said. “He knows it’s been an open invitation, so I think he’s going to decide if he wants to do more or whether this is going to be the final season, I would guess before it airs.”
Speculation was rampant last spring after producer Jon Hayman suggested in a tweet that the HBO series might be coming to an end with its upcoming 12th season. The tweet was deleted and EP Jeff Schaffer disputed the comments.

Back when "Curb Your Enthusiasm" premiered in 2000, I don't think anyone expected the show would still be going 20+ years later. It's rare for any show to last that long, especially not a live-action one, and the series' cast and crew was already older than you'd expect from a typical sitcom.
It helps that "Curb" was never beholden to the requirements of other network shows of its time, back when 20+ episode seasons were the norm and they were expected to release on a regular basis. The seasons have always been only 10 episodes long and HBO's allowed Larry David and the rest of the cast/crew to take as many breaks as they've needed. But even with all these advantages, the show does have to end eventually -- and if social media posts from the show's cast and crew are anything to go on, that ending might be coming soon.
Unless it's not.

There may be more stories to tell and more enthusiasm to be curbed after all for HBO's hit comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm. The prospect of a new season following the upcoming Season 12 seemed grim when sources, including producer Jon Hayman, seemed to confirm the series was entering its final run. However, Deadline reports today that executive producer Jeff Schaffer came out to heavily downplay those rumors, claiming that the team was still nowhere close to a decision regarding the future of the series.

Last week, we reported that there was some evidence that Larry David’s comedy series, arguably the finest examination of social foibles in modern American history, “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” was wrapping things up after 23 years and 12 seasons. This was based off of a since-deleted tweet by producer-writer Jon Hayman who shared a photo of himself, David, and executive producer Jeff Schaffer from the last day of shooting, adding “Maybe you love the show. Maybe you hate the show. Maybe you don’t give a shit. In any event, shooting the last scene of the last episode of the final season.” Other wrap-day tweets from co-star Richard Lewis and longtime director Robert Weide were then read through an “end of an era” lens.
But Schaffer has stepped up to curb people’s “Curb” eulogies.
“Reports of our demise have been greatly exaggerated,” he told Deadline. “We literally just finished shooting last week.

Curb Your Enthusiasm producer Jeff Schaffer debunks the idea that season 12 will be the sitcom's last. The show was created by Larry David, who stars as a fictionalized version of himself, and has enjoyed widespread critical acclaim, racking up 51 Primetime Emmy nominations and winning two. Curb Your Enthusiasm's humor stems from the cringe comedy that arises as David deals with the minutiae of daily life.
While speaking recently with Deadline, Schaffer, who has been an executive producer on Curb Your Enthusiasm since season 5, dispelled the notion that the upcoming season 12 would be the show's last. Schaffer's comments come a few days after another producer, Jon Hayman, suggested that Curb Your Enthusiasm was coming to a close in a since-deleted tweet. Read Schaffer's full quote below:

After producer Jon Hayman suggested last week that the HBO series might be coming to an end with its upcoming 12th season, executive producer Jeff Schaffer told Deadline that isn’t necessarily the case.

It looks like Curb Your Enthusiasm will end with its upcoming 12th season on HBO. Jon Hayman, a producer of the Larry David comedy series, revealed that the series was coming to a close in a now-deleted tweet.
Starring David, Susie Essman, Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, J.B. Exclusive: The upcoming second season of HBO’s House of the Dragon will consist of eight episodes, two fewer than Season 1 of the Critics Choice Award-winning Game of Thrones prequel. It is part of a long-term plan for the show, which includes HBO mulling a green light for a third season, I have learned.

The news comes as production is about to begin on Season 2 in the UK for a likely summer 2024 premiere.
In what is a relatively common practice, HBO did not reveal the episode order in the Season 2 renewal announcement last summer. I hear the initial plan was for another 10-episode arc, which eventually changed, leading to some script rewrites.

Prettay… prettay… prettay… bad?
“Curb Your Enthusiasm” may be coming to an end after 12 seasons, after two producers hinted on social media that they had wrapped production on the series for good. According to a now-deleted tweet from producer Jon Hayman, the crew finished “shooting the last scene of the last episode of the final season.”
Hayman attached an image to his since-deleted tweet (see below), in which David looks at a monitor displaying the apparent final scene. In the scene, Larry appears to be sitting on a plane next to J.B. Smoove’s character Leon, which, as GQ notes, is reminiscent of the Season 8 ending, when the longtime pals leave the United States to jaunt around Paris.
Maybe you love the show. Maybe you hate the show. Maybe you don't give a shit. In any event, shooting the last scene of the last episode of the final season.

While “Curb Your Enthusiasm” fans rejoiced at the news that Larry David was making a 12th season of the HBO comedy series, they may want to savor the episodes once they drop. The show might be coming to an end after this next season.

A Curb Your Enthusiasm producer seemingly reveals that season 12 is the show’s last. Fresh off his huge success as a co-creator of NBC’s Seinfeld, Larry David struck sitcom gold a second time at HBO, starring as a heightened version of himself in the hilarious Curb Your Enthusiasm. Though Curb has been inconsistent in delivering more seasons over the last 23 years, the show has managed to put out 110 episodes, with season 12 ready to arrive later in 2023.
Now it appears that Curb Your Enthusiasm season 12 will mark a milestone in the show’s long history, as one of the series’ producers has seemingly confirmed that season 12 will be its last.
In a since-deleted tweet, producer Jon Hayman said, “Maybe you love the show. Maybe you hate the show. Maybe you don’t give a s—t. In any event, shooting the last scene of the last episode of the final season.

Curb Your Enthusiasm has had quite the run, from its debut in 2001 to its long-awaited return in 2017, but could the Larry David-led comedy be on its way out for good? Comedian Richard Lewis tweeted a surprise for fans: He is returning to the long-running “Curb Your Enthusiasm” after sitting out most of Season 11.

The world has changed but Larry David hasn’t. That’s the best possible news for the legion fanbase of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” the comedian’s long-running half-hour series. HBO dropped the trailer for its upcoming Season 11 on Wednesday, October 13, featuring guest stars Patton Oswalt, Vince Vaughn, Jon Hamm, Seth Rogen, and more.
The series originally debuted in 2001 and has run for more than 100 episodes. “Curb Your Enthusiasm” stars “Seinfeld” co-creator David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his fictionalized life. The series also stars Susie Essman (“Broad City”), Jeff Garlin (“The Goldbergs”), Cheryl Hines (“Suburgatory”), J.B. Smoove (“Mapleworth Murders”), Ted Danson (“The Good Place”) and Richard Lewis (“Anything But Love”).
Per HBO, the comedy series continues to prove how seemingly trivial details of one’s day-to-day life — a cold cup of coffee, a stained shirt, a missing toothbrush — can precipitate a catastrophic chain of events.

Larry David will return to HBO for an eleventh season on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Larry David is back on HBO tonight with season ten of Curb Your Enthusiasm, two and a half years after his fatwa was called off at the end of season nine.
But, can we expect more episodes of the long-running comedy, starring David as a fictionalized, gleefully misanthropic version of himself?
HBO President of Programming Casey Bloys told Deadline, “The deal with Larry is that he tells us when he is ready to go. If he tells us he wants to do more, we’ll do more.”
Although David ends the last season running away from a man who doesn’t realize that his fatwa has been called, that’s probably the closest that he comes to death this season. Bloys joked, “He doesn’t die or anything [in season ten], I can reveal that now. There is nothing that would prevent [more seasons]. He’s thinking about what he wants to do. “

Bloys joked, “He doesn’t die or anything [in season ten], I can reveal that now. There is nothing that would prevent [more seasons]. He’s thinking about what he wants to do. “

Updated with new trailer: HBO has slotted Sunday, January 19 (10:30-11:07 pm), for the 10th season premiere of Larry David’s Emmy-winning comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm. The return is a long time coming for Curb fans, who have been waiting for a new season since 2017. HBO also released a new trailer (watch above).
Along with David, returning series regulars include Susie Essman, Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, Richard Lewis and Jb Smoove..
HBO’s official synopsis: “Curb Your Enthusiasm revolves around a fictionalized, gleefully misanthropic version of David as a ubiquitous camera chronicles the private, often banal world of this (relatively) public man. The series continues to prove how seemingly trivial details of one’s day-to-day life – a cold cup of coffee, a stained shirt, a missing toothbrush – can...

Winners of the 2018 Writers Guild of America Awards were revealed on Feb. 11 in ceremonies held simultaneously in Los Angeles and New York. As only screenplays written under the guild’s guidelines or those of several international partners are eligible for consideration, these kudos, which are celebrating their 70th anniversary, have not been the most reliable barometer of the Oscars.
Indeed, one of this year’s leading contenders for Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars — Martin McDonagh for “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” — was ruled out of the running by the guild. However, that WGA race does include four of the other Academy Awards nominees — “The Big Sick,” “Get Out,” “Lady Bird” and “The Shape of Water.” It is rounded out by “I, Tonya.” Jordan Peele won for “Get Out” edging out Greta Gerwig, who had been predicted to win for “Lady Bird.”

The 2018 Writers Guild of America Awards take place on Feb. 11 with simultaneous ceremonies held in both New York and Los Angeles. Only scripts written under the guild’s guidelines or those of several international partners are allowed to vie for these awards. As such, these kudos are not the most reliable barometer of the Oscars.
In the past nine years only 59 of the WGA nominees have numbered among the 90 screenplays that reaped Academy Awards bids. Indeed, 2014’s Oscar winner for Best Original Screenplay, “Birdman,” was deemed ineligible. Likewise for one of this year’s leading contenders for that award: “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.”
On the television side, the leading nominees are “Better Call Saul,” which competes for best drama series writing as well as for two individual episodes and “The Americans,” which is up for both overall drama series writing and an individual episode. Over in comedy, reigning Emmy...

The Producers Guild of America hands out its awards on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018. That is the night before the Screen Actors Guild does the same. Unlike, the latter, which will air on TNT and TBS, the PGA ceremony is not televised. However, it is an equally important stop on the road to the Oscars.
The PGA Awards has an enviable track record at presaging the eventual Best Picture winner at the Academy Awards. The guild and the academy have agreed on 19 of the most recent 28 Best Picture champs. Last year, all nine Oscar nominees for Best Picture numbered among the 10 PGA contenders; only “Deadpool” was snubbed by the academy. The PGA prize went to “La La Land” while the Oscar was (eventually) won by “Moonlight.”
