    • Helen Haye was born on August 28, 1874 in Assam Province, British India. She was an actress, known for The Case of the Frightened Lady (1940), Les 39 marches (1935) and Drake of England (1935). She was married to Ernest Attenborough. She died on September 1, 1957 in London, England, UK.

  • Dignified British character actress, on stage from 1898. In films from 1916, she was usually seen in benevolent or aristocratic roles. She gave particularly strong performances in L'Espion noir (1939) and Les 39 marches (1935). Helen Haye taught for years at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, her prize pupils including John Gielgud and Charles Laughton.
