Swedish Director Halldoff Dies
Jan Halldoff
Swedish filmmaker Jan Halldoff has lost his battle with cancer at the age of 71.

The Life's Just Great director passed away on Friday in his hometown of Stockholm, reports Variety.com.

Halldoff made his debut with The D.T.s in 1966 before becoming one of his native country's most prolific directors, releasing several box office hits.

But his last film, 1982's The Score, was a commercial flop and was even cited as a factor in the bankruptcy of production company Europa Film.

Halldoff is survived by his wife, Kerstin.
