Cousin of TV host/singer Merv Griffin.

Played a cop on Capitaine Furillo (1981), then went on to direct episodes of cop shows New York Police Blues (1993) and New York 911 (1999).

Is a Vietnam veteran who served in the Navy and he engaged in covert submarine operations off the coast of Thailand.

Best known for his hot-under-the-collar cop, Officer Andy Renko, on the hit '80s series Capitaine Furillo (1981), he later concentrated on TV directing and producing, winning the Director's Guild Award for his work on another hit series, Urgences (1994).
