Biography

    • Hozumi Goda is a Japanese voice actor, narrator and sound director affiliated with Ogipro the Next Co. Inc., based in Tokyo. He graduated from Shonan Actors School and in 1982, he made his debut as a voice actor by winning the runner-up prize at the Nippon Broadcasting System's Voice Actor Contest. In 1983, he formed the three-man comedy team, Kaibutsu Land with his friends from a small theater company (known as Gekidan Matenrou), creating many innovative comedy sketches.

He went on to win the Grand Prix on Nippon Television's The Birth of a Comedy Star and made regular appearances on TV Asahi's Usopp Land and What Sore? For some time, he temporarily suspended his involvement with Kaibutsu Land in order to concentrate on his personal life, though would make a strong comeback as an actor, voice actor, DJ, and host. He has further revealed his range as a director, directing the play Tomita World, based on an original work by psychologist Takashi Tomita.

Aside from voice work, he has also showcased his talents in musicals, including Hunter × Hunter in 2000, Hunter × Hunter: Dejavu in Summer 2001, and Hunter × Hunter: The Nightmare of Zaoldyeck in 2002 - featuring as Leorio in all productions.

He has further lent his voice to numerous Drama CDs, such as Yasashikute Toge ga Aru as Kippei Asakura, Antique Bakery as Yusuke Ono and Joe "Joker" Carpenter in both R.O.D -Read or Die- Drama CDs. He has also dubbed for David Thewlis as Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter film franchise.
