  • Daughter of Karl Wilhelm Paul Haack and Sophie Margarethe Jahn Haack. Mother of Hannelore Schroth, stepmother of Heinz Schroth aka Heinz Sailer and Carl-Heinz Schroth.
  • Prolific, versatile and immensely likeable actress, the daughter of a textile merchant. On stage from 1914 and long-standing ensemble member of the Preußische Staatstheater, Berlin. She acted in more then 200 films well into her late 80's, beginning with leading roles in silent pictures to gentle, humorous or maternal character parts in post-war German cinema and television.
  • Because of her manifold choice of parts she had the possibility to take part in very different movies.
  • The entry into the sound film and the change of a young girl to a mature woman succeeded smoothly.
  • After the war she became familiar with roles as a Grand Dame which she personified impressively in the productions "Zwei ahnungslose Engel" (1969), "Der Lord von Barmbeck" (1976) and "Grete Minde - Der Wald ist voller Wölfe" (1977).
  • She got her first engagement at theaters in 1914 and one year later she already acted regularly in silent movies.
  • Käthe Haack belonged to the busiest actresses who was able to look back at a nearly 70 years long career. During this time she appeared in around 230 movies and TV productions.
  • During the wartime she acted in the major movies "Bal paré" (1940) "Bismarck" (1940), "Sophienlund" (1942) and in the monumental movie "Münchhausen" (1943).
