    • Ara Güler was born on August 16, 1928 in Beyoglu, Istanbul, Turkey. He was an actor, known for Bul Beni (2011), Bay E (1995) and Aller vers le soleil (1999). He was married to Suna Güler. He died on October 17, 2018 in Istanbul, Turkey.

  • He was a prominent Turkish photographer who started out working for a newspaper. In the 1950s, he was appointed Time-Life magazine's Near East correspondent. Henri Cartier-Bresson signed him up for the famous photo agency Magnum. He specialized in black-and-white photos of people going about their daily work, and familiar landmarks. He also photographed many famous people including Winston Churchill, Indira Gandhi, Alfred Hitchcock, Tennessee Williams, and Pablo Picasso.
  • His parents were ethnic Armenian.
