Biography

    • Imola Gáspár is a Romanian-born Hungarian actress based in London. She had an extensive film and theatre career after graduating from the Academy of Drama and Film. She played at the National Theatre in Romania before moving to Hungary to work at the National Theatre in Budapest. In 2008, she settled in London. She starred in over 50 films in Europe and America. She has worked with leading directors such as Denis Villeneuve (nominated for 3 Oscars) and the Oscar winners Andrzej Wajda and Istvan Szabo. During her career, she won two awards: an award for the best actress in Hungary for the role of Pilar Ternera in the theatrical adaptation of the novel One Hundred Years of Solitude by Márquez and an award for the best actress at the Avanca International Film Festival in Portugal for the leading role of Viktoria in the Hungarian film The Small Journey. She has recently played an essential episodic role in Dune part 2, directed by Denis Villeneuve. Her latest film role is in the House of Spoils, directed by Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy. She started opposite Oscar winner Ariane DeBose in the film. Her rich emotional world makes it suitable for lyrical, dramatic and character roles. She plays characters such as Lady Milford from Friedrich Schiller's Intrigue and Love, Nastia from Maxim Gorki's Night Asylum, Bride from Garcia Lorca's Blood Wedding and Gertrude from Hamlet by William Shakespeare. She is a versatile actress. She can play different characters, ranging from queen to simple countrywoman.
