Trivia

Ann Morgan Guilbert

Edit
  • She was 70 years old when she performed 'Grandma Yetta', Fran's seriously forgetful grandmother, for the last time on Une nounou d'enfer (1993).
  • Mother, with George Eckstein, of two daughters: Nora Eckstein (acting teacher) and Hallie Todd.
  • Was fired from the 'Billy Barnes Revue' after she and other cast members failed to make it back to New York on time after a flight from Chicago, where they had taped an episode of Playboy's Penthouse (1959). As a result, that night's Revue's performance was cancelled and $800 had to be returned to the ticket holders.
  • Her ashes were given to her oldest daughter.
  • The daughter of a physician, Dr. Gerald Guilbert, and his wife, Cornelia (née Morgan). Her paternal grandfather, Lionel Guilbert, was an immigrant from the U.K.
  • Began her career as a featured performer and singer in the original Los Angeles, Off-Broadway and Broadway's cast of 'Billy Barnes Revue', a 1959 musical comedy revue with music and lyrics by Billy Barnes and sketches by Bob Rodgers, which was produced by her then husband George Eckstein.
  • Grandmother of Ivy Withrow.
  • Appeared in "A Naked Girl on the Apian Way" at South Coast Repertory Theatre in Costa Mesa, California. (April 2005)
  • Co-starred with her husband, Guy Raymond, in Mark Harelik's regional theater production "The Immigrant." The play was performed in 1986 at Los Angeles' Mark Taper Forum, and also in Denver and Washington.
