- Author of the theater play "Os Pés no Arame", which opened in Lisbon in 2002.
- Winner of the 1997 Juri Award of FIGRA International TV Festival, in France, with his report on the life of a great Portuguese hospital.
- Author of the books "Daqui a Nada" (1992) and "A Casa Quieta" (2005). With "Daqui a Nada" he won the Young Talents Awards given in Portugal by the United Nations.
- Sports journalist at RTP, the public television station in Portugal, since the late eighties till 1992. He also worked in the news radio station, TSF.
- Since 1992 he is working at SIC Televisão. In the first years he was the anchor of the weekend 8 o'clock news show "Jornal da Noite" and the 1 o'clock news "Primeiro Jornal". Since 2001 he is the no. 1 anchor of the station, hosting the 8 o'clock news "Jornal da Noite" from Monday to Friday.
