    • Jim Grollman is from Washington, D.C. and got his first TV acting role playing Jerry Jempson, the quirky, cocaine crazy killer on the pilot of the TV show "Homicide: Life on the Street," directed by Barry Levinson. (In which he won an Emmy for best direction.) Jim received his MFA in Acting from The Catholic University of America and then moved to New York City, performing off Broadway and acting opposite James Earl Jones in the TV movie "What the Deaf Man Heard," playing Byron, a bumbling Southern Cop. Jim eventually decided to move to LA and as an Adjunct Professor taught the only accredited course in Stand-Up comedy at Cerritos Community College. He is featured in an award winning documentary called Freaks of Laughter about the class. Jim continues to have success playing quirky characters although he also had roles on dramas such as "Rizzoli and Isles," and "Perception." More recently he reprized his role as Stevie in the award winning production of Criminal Genius at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. But his biggest success to date was meeting his wife and having a son who retired from acting at age five to focus on sports.
