Now Chalamet could become the youngest Best Actor winner ever if he scores the Oscar win like he did the SAG Award, but plenty are surely wondering where to watch “A Complete Unknown” if they haven’t seen the Bob Dylan movie yet.

Is “A Complete Unknown” streaming?

Not yet, but a streaming release date is imminent. The film hit theaters on Christmas and since it’s a Searchlight Pictures release, it will be streaming on Hulu likely around 90 days after it first opened. That would put its streaming release around March 25 or so. Stay tuned, we’ll update this post when we know more.

The 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards celebrated the best performances of the year in both movies and television.

“A Complete Unknown,” a musical biopic starring Timothée Chalamet as “Like a Rolling Stone” composer Bob Dylan, has cemented a box office milestone, notching $100 million in global ticket sales.

After seven weeks on the big screen, “A Complete Unknown” has grossed $70 million in North America and $30 million internationally for a grand total of $100 million. The R-rated film ranks as Searchlight’s sixth-highest grossing domestic release of all time and is expected to pass “Sideways” ($71.5 million) to crack the top five in the coming weeks.

James Mangold (“Walk the Line”) directed the movie, which reportedly cost between $60 million to $70 million to produce. Since movie theater owners get to keep roughly half of ticket sales, “A Complete Unknown” likely won’t turn a profit in its theatrical run. But still, it’s no small feat these days for specialty fare to crack the $100 million mark.

Garth Hudson, the virtuoso multi-instrumentalist and last original member of The Band, has died at the age of 87.

According to The Toronto Star, Hudson passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, January 21st at a nursing home in Woodstock, New York

Hudson was born Eric Hudson in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, on August 2nd, 1937. Like their son, both of his parents were multi-talented musicians, and Hudson began playing piano at a very early age. The Screen Actors Guild wisely opted to cancel its in-person 2025 SAG Awards nominations announcement as fires raged throughout Los Angeles. The list of film nominees, representing the best work by actors in 2024, is led by Wicked with five nominations. A Complete Unknown and Emilia Pérez each earned four, and Anora picked up three nominations. Conclave and The Last Showgirl were nominated for two SAG Awards.

Shōgun leads all television nominees with five, followed by The Bear (coming off a disappointing season) with four and The Diplomat with three. 12 series tied with two nominations each.

Winners will be announced during the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards streaming on Netflix on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 5pm Pt/8pm Et.

Nominations for the 2025 SAG Awards were unveiled this morning, after the group’s scheduled in-person announcement was canceled amid the unfolding wildfire tragedy in Los Angeles. See the full list below, followed by a breakdown of noms by film and TV show..

Vying for the marquee film ensemble category are the casts of A Complete Unknown, Anora, Conclave, Emilia Pérez and Wicked.

Up for the lead actor prize are Golden Globe winner Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown), Daniel Craig (Queer), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing) and Ralph Fiennes (Conclave).

The lead female actor race is among Pamela Anderson (The Last Showgirl), Cynthia Erivo (Wicked), Karla Sofía Gascón (Emilia Pérez), Mikey Madison (Anora) and Golden Globe winner Demi Moore (The Substance).

Overall, Wicked leads the film field with five nominations, followed by A Complete Unknown with four and Anora and Emilia Pérez with three each.

Peter Yarrow, the singer-songwriter best known for his work in the folk group Peter, Paul & Mary, whose career was later overshadowed by a conviction for molesting a 14-year-old girl, has died at the age of 86.

According to a representative, Yarrow died on Tuesday, January 7th, following a prolonged battle with bladder cancer.

Yarrow began performing while a student at Cornell University in New York. After graduating, he became immersed in the city’s fledging folk scene, eventually crossing paths with music manager Albert Grossman, who pitched him on the idea of forming a new age folk group. Yarrow was soon paired with Mary Travers and Noel Stookey to form Peter, Paul & Mary, and the trio released their eponymous debut album through Warner Brothers in 1962. Featuring songs including “Lemon Tree,” “500 Miles,” and a cover of Pete Seeger’s “If I Had a Hammer,” the album proved a mammoth hit, spending seven weeks at No.

Peter Yarrow, a major figure of the Sixties folk revival with Peter, Paul and Mary who was convicted of molesting a 14-year-old girl and later received a presidential pardon, died today, The New York Times reports. He was 86.

Yarrow died from bladder cancer at his home in Manhattan. His death was confirmed by his publicist, Ken Sunshine.

Costume designer Arianne Phillips, who has worked with director James Mangold multiple times, creates the costumes for A Complete Unknown as well. Interestingly enough, she also worked on the musical biopic Walk the Line, meaning she once again styled for an actor portraying Johnny Cash. A Complete Unknown comes to theaters on December 25.

Where biopics are known to depict their subjects as larger-than-life figures to the detriment of their story and humanization, A Complete Unknown reckons with Bob Dylan’s enigmatic nature. I walked away from the film feeling like I didn’t learn anything new or interesting about Bob Dylan beyond what we already know about him. From here, Seeger takes him under his wing to show him the ropes, and the rest is kind of history.

For the first time, Bob Dylan has publicly acknowledged the upcoming biopic about his early years in New York, “A Complete Unknown,” which stars Timothée Chalamet as the young folk music legend.

“There’s a movie about me opening soon called A Complete Unknown (what a title!). Timothee Chalamet is starring in the lead role. The new footage shows Chalamet singing “Girl From the North Country” as he arrives in New York from Minnesota. He begins to cozy up to fellow folk singer Joan Baez (played by Monica Barbaro) as the two spark a romance.

Earlier in August, we got word that A Complete Unknown, James Mangold’s highly-anticipated Bob Dylan biopic, would be heading into US cinemas on Christmas day while a UK date, believed to be in December still, was pending.

Well, it seems that we got your hopes up a little too early. Sorry about that, but it now looks like Searchlight Pictures has locked in the 17th January for A Complete Unknown to hit the screens in the UK.

When it was revealed last month (alongside a trailer for the upcoming film) that James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown would be arriving in cinemas in 2024, a few eyebrows went up. The project began filming back in March (according to IMDb) and wrapped near the end of June.

Still, Mangold can be a quick worker when it comes to the post-production stage of filmmaking, depending on the film of course. Whilst Le Mans ’66 took a year to make it through the editing room, his other musical biopic – 2005’s Walk The Line – released in cinemas six months after entering the post-production phase and it looks like the filmmaker will be doing the same again here.

The countdown to Christmas just got even more exciting as Searchlight Pictures announced today that A Complete Unknown , the Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothe Chalamet in the lead role, will hit the big screen on Dec. 25. The movie, also starring Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo, Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, and Dan Fogler as Albert Grossman, will battle it out against Robert Eggers remake of Nosferatu on Christmas day.

The film will arrive in theaters in December, an unexpected entry into the 2025 Oscars race.

As you watch the trailer, your experience may be similar to mine. When the vocals in “A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall” started, I thought, “Oh, they’re using an old recording of Bob Dylan.” A few seconds later, I went, “Wait, that’s Timothée…right?” A couple more seconds, and I settled on “That’s definitely Chalamet singing, but he sounds just like Bob Dylan. Good job, Timmy.”

Born in Orillia, Ontario in 1938, Lightfoot became known and beloved as Canada’s folk troubadour, an artist who stayed true to his roots despite international success. Songs like “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” and “Canadian Railroad Trilogy” depicted the culture, landscapes, and history of his Canadian home and grew to become both hits and signature tracks.
