Gillian Grisman's unique upbringing in the San Francisco Bay Area around musical parents exposed her to a wealth of great music, musicians and artists. Gillian's earliest credits include producing the Garcia/Grisman video, The Thrill Is Gone, and the Grateful Dead home video, Backstage Pass, as well as producing a video for Francis Ford Coppola's Napa Valley winery. In 1998, Gillian founded her NYC based, multi-faceted production company, 11th Hour Productions. In addition to Grateful Dawg, she is also producing an annual collaborative documentary about kids growing up in the New York public education system, with participating filmmakers: Steve Buscemi, Doug Liman, Nancy Savoca, Amy Schatz, Stanley Tucci, John Turturro, and Frank Whaley. To the philanthropic end, 11th Hour produces performance-driven events geared towards mobilizing the arts & entertainment community to affect positive social change. Gillian also serves as the executive director for a New York education based not-for-profit called, Change for Kids.
