The fall season is a time when new shows debut and existing ones return with new seasons. It’s also the time, however, when some shows get the axe. The reasons vary, from low ratings to sub-par viewership numbers and this year, everything from the writer’s strike to creative differences. Sometimes, the show cancelation is surprising and other times it feels like a foregone conclusion.
Fall 2023 has seen plenty of show cancelations already from all the top streaming services. Some of them were expected, but others came totally out of left field. Nonetheless, these are all shows that will no longer be coming out with new seasons. While some shows had a decent run on screen, some only managed to last a single season.

Drama schools worldwide were able to achieve a degree of stability in the past academic year as productions and classes largely went on as scheduled (though, in some cases, programs still felt lingering effects from Covid-19). Coming out of the pandemic, schools are pushing forward with a greater emphasis on diversity within the classes, faculty and coursework. Students are learning how to create the best self-taped auditions and coming out of school with jobs booked. The Hollywood Reporter consulted with educators and industry execs to determine its annual ranking of the best schools for an acting degree. Tuition, when applicable, is listed on an annualized basis and pertains to the upcoming academic year, unless otherwise indicated. Most schools offer some form of financial assistance.

Boardwalk Empire star Michael Shannon reveals disappointment in his character's arc. The series premiered on HBO back in 2010 and tracked organized crime in Atlantic City during the Prohibition era, along with political figure Enoch "Nucky" Thompson (Steve Buscemi) and his illegal operations. Shannon appeared throughout all five seasons of the show, portraying Nelson Van Alden, a persistent, but explosive federal agent working for the Bureau of Prohibition who spent time on the run, using the name George Mueller.
While the character of Van Alden was well-received by audiences, Shannon is revealing that he would have liked to see things end differently for him on Boardwalk Empire. The actor discussed his role in a recent video for Vanity Fair, and around the 7:32 mark, he shared how he thought Van Alden would eventually "rise from the ashes." Although he would have chosen that route, Shannon noted that fans appeared content with his character's overall story.

Kiefer Sutherland is ready to go on down the Rabbit Hole again but is not sure where Paramount+ stands on picking up the series for a second season.

Sutherland has no idea if Paramount+ is renewing the series and shared his thoughts on the difference between working on a show for a network and a streamer.

Warning: Spoilers For Rabbit Hole Episode 8!The season 1 finale of Paramount Plus thriller Rabbit Hole brought the show to a predictably unpredictable conclusion. Rabbit Hole was inspired by the paranoid conspiracy thrillers of old such as Three Days of the Condor or The Parallax View, and it's the kind of show that excelled in pulling the rug out from viewers just as they felt they had a grip on the narrative. Rabbit Hole's season 1 finale "Ace in the Hole" was no different, and in addition to being a satisfying conclusion to the current story, it left some loose ends for a potential second season.
Watching Rabbit Hole's first seven episodes and summing up the story concisely is no mean feat but in broad strokes, it involved Kiefer Sutherland's corporate spy John Weir working with his mismatched team to expose a conspiracy to subvert American democracy. Weir worked...

Just like no man, no character lives on an island.
Rabbit Hole's John Weir has many people in his orbit, including a feisty FBI Agent, Jo Madi (Enid Graham), who is always one step behind him, a bad guy who is one step ahead called The Intern, or just Kyle (Walt Klink), and the man John is trying to protect, even if he doesn't know it yet, Edward Homm (Rob Yang).

“Rabbit Hole” stars Kiefer Sutherland as a corporate espionage consultant who must go on the run after being framed for murder by a shadowy but powerful group, a character that is used to being on the receiving end of punches, quite unlike the character he’s best known for on “24.”
The Paramount+ series pairs Sutherland with “Crazy, Stupid Love,” “This is Us” and “WeCrashed” writer-directors John Requa and Glenn Ficarra. When they pitched him on a series that’s a throwback to ’70s conspiracy thrillers “Three Days of the Condor” and “Marathon Man” and “The Parallax View,” he was fully on board. “I’m so lucky that they called me first,” Sutherland told TheWrap ahead of the series premiere on March 26.

You know who I miss?
I miss Weird Kiefer Sutherland. At the time, I’m afraid many people treated Weird Kiefer Sutherland as an almost disappointing anomaly like, “Man, look how far Kiefer Sutherland’s career has fallen,” rather than appreciatively tabulating all the wonderfully bizarre choices Sutherland was making in films like Dark City or even his one-minute cameo in A Few Good Men.
If there’s anything I admire about Paramount+’s new financial espionage thriller Rabbit Hole — and I wish I admired more about it — it’s the attempt to build the show as a Grand Unified Theory of Kiefer Sutherland Performances. There’s a little Movie Star Kiefer, a...

Rabbit Hole is an aptly titled new series that follows its protagonist John Weir into the dark underbelly of corporate espionage, where nothing is as it seems. The new thriller series from Paramount+ stars Kiefer Sutherland, best known for the long-running and much-loved 24 franchise, as a genius whose proficiency with probabilities fails him when up against sabotage and a false murder charge.
Rabbit Hole stars a cavalcade of talented actors, including Rob Yang (who got a taste of cruelty in the business world with Succession) as Edward Homm, one of Weir's early targets who winds up being crucial to later plans. Enid Graham (Mare of Easttown) plays recently demoted FBI agent Josephine Madi, who sees Weir as her ticket back into the agency, while Walt Kink (The English) plays his intern, who seems entirely overlooked until it's too late. Rabbit Hole also stars Meta Golding, Jason Butler Harner, and Charles Dance in key roles.

Paramount+ is set to launch its new spy thriller series, Rabbit Hole, headlined by Kiefer Sutherland (24). Sutherland stars as John Weir, a highly skilled private espionage agent who gets framed for murder and finds himself in a complex socio-political web. With the actor’s background in the crime and political thriller genre with projects like The Reluctant Fundamentalist and Designated Survivor, fans can rest assured that Rabbit Hole will also hold up to similar standards. Rabbit Hole also stars Charles Dance, Meta Golding, Rob Yang, Enid Graham, Jason Butler Harner, and Wendy Makenna, among others. Daniel Attias (Homeland) is credited as the director for numerous episodes of Rabbit Hole.

Rabbit Hole has its protagonist John Weir questioning everything he knows, and it leaves the audience asking even more questions. Paramount+'s new series, which premieres on March 26, stars Kiefer Sutherland as an expert on corporate espionage who gets outplayed by forces more powerful than he can imagine. After several seasons of 24, Sutherland is no stranger to the genre — but his new series tacks on a few extra layers the actor is sure to have fun with.
Rabbit Hole also stars Rob Yang (Succession), Meta Golding, Enid Graham, Jason Butler Harner, Walt Kink, and Charles Dance, all of whom play vital roles in the mystery surrounding Sutherland's character. Though the show begins with him at the top of his game, he is thrust into a world of lies and conspiracies not of his own making after one false murder charge. A genius in the world of corporate espionage, John Weir's life gets turned upside from one moment to the next in Rabbit Hole. The new Paramount+ series stars Kiefer Sutherland, who became a household name in the crime drama genre thanks to his tenure as Jack Bauer on the counterterrorism series 24. But 2023 sees his character John facing a much more advanced and personal form of cyber terror in Rabbit Hole, where he can no one from his employees to his closest friends.
Alongside Sutherland, Rabbit Hole also stars Rob Yang (Succession), Meta Golding, Enid Graham, Jason Butler Harner, Walt Kink, and Charles Dance. Though the first episode opens with Weir on a career high, he is quickly brought low by mysterious and powerful forces who frame him for murder and alienate him from his allies. If you’ve been missing Jack Bauer in your life, Kiefer Sutherland’s latest TV gig won’t disappoint. In “Rabbit Hole,” Paramount+’s slick new action thriller, Sutherland takes up the mantle of a present-day Robin Hood: one who robs the rich with elevated psychology and predictive behavior in order to help the causes he cares about.
Until, of course, it all goes wrong, and John Weir becomes the accused murderer at the center of a massive conspiracy, and is forced to go on the run. And that’s when the real fun begins.
The pilot sets up this premise spectacularly, with plenty of special effects and street shots. Viewers quickly learn about Weir’s paranoid disposition and his traumatic past while setting him up as the skilled swindler you can’t help rooting for. Sure, this guy is a criminal, and has an FBI agent (Enid Graham) tailing him,...

Kiefer Sutherland's new series, "Rabbit Hole," has all the requisite parts of a corporate espionage thriller. There are few shows out there, however, that — episode by episode — continually upend what the audience thinks is actually going on.
It turns out that the cast of the series was in the dark as well as to how the first season would go. When I talked with "Rabbit Hole" actors Rob Yang, Enid Graham, Meta Golding, Charles Dance, and Walt Klink in the lead-up to the show's premiere, they revealed that they didn't know how things were going to end either.
"I knew a bit about Ben's past, but very little about his future," Dance told me about his enigmatic character, Dr. Ben Wilson. "I was given bit by bit, by bit, by bit, by bit, and it's an intriguing way of working. But when you are dealing with really good writing,...

Kiefer Sutherland is trying to save the world (again). The 24 alum’s new thriller, Rabbit Hole, premieres its first two episodes Sunday, March 26 on Paramount+. Here’s what you need to do before it drops.

Kiefer Sutherland secured his place as America's fictional hero with 24's Jack Bauer.
There's something about his portrayal that makes people feel comfortable imagining their life in his hands.
The new Paramount+ series Rabbit Hole will put that feeling to the test.
In Rabbit Hole, Sutherland plays John Weir, "a master of deception in the world of corporate espionage," who is "framed for murder by powerful forces who have the ability to influence and control populations."
There's a lot to unpack in that series summary, and there's even more to unpack as the series begins to unfold.
Instead of being America's hero, John Weir must deconstruct events that led to his framing.
I'm not a fan of so many twists in a series that you can't keep up or catch up to the narrative to understand what's going on. But although Rabbit Hole is jam-packed with twists and turns and turns on the twists,...

Plot: John Weir, a master of deception in the world of corporate espionage, is framed for murder by powerful forces who have the ability to influence and control populations.
Review: Kiefer Sutherland experienced a career resurgence when he played Jack Bauer on the long-running Fox series 24. As an unabashed fan of the insane, real-time thriller series, I loved Sutherland’s intense portrayal of an All-American hero who would stop at nothing to defend his country. After 24 left the air, Sutherland played a much different character in the political series Designated Survivor. Sutherland’s down-to-earth performance was consistent throughout the series, which made him an everyman character who bordered on being a superhero. Now, Kiefer is back in a new thriller show with action elements and conspiracy theories aplenty, this time on a streaming platform where he can drop copious f-bombs while still defending the United States from nefarious bad guys...

It's another action series for Kiefer Sutherland, and honestly, good for us. We know it's what he does best. The "24" alum will star in a new Paramount+ series called "Rabbit Hole" — and the thriller's second trailer has just been released.
In the sneak peek, we become immersed in another action thriller in which a spy tackles disinformation and the overarching powers of government in the throes of a fight for American democracy. The trailer does well to keep you mostly in the dark aside from the show's general gist, but it seems that will aid in the intrigue they're setting up. The first look is an intense, fast-paced thrill, so it looks like no matter what, it'll be fun to jump down the rabbit hole of "Rabbit Hole."
According to the streamer, the official synopsis reads, "Private espionage operative John Weir finds himself in the midst of a battle over...

Kiefer Sutherland takes on corporate espionage in the teaser trailer for Rabbit Hole. Sutherland is known for his long tenure as the hard-edged Jack Bauer on 24, a series centered around counterterrorism. Rabbit Hole returns the actor to the world of deception. Sutherland stars as John Weir alongside Rob Yang, Meta Golding, Enid Graham, Jason Butler Harner, and Charles Dance. The story sees Weir framed for murder by extremely powerful people with wide-reaching influence, forcing him to exhaust all his resources as he works toward the truth.
Paramount+ shared the teaser trailer for Rabbit Hole on YouTube, giving audiences their first taste of what the forthcoming series has to offer.
Sutherland's Weir looks to be declining: drinking, taking copious medication, deprived of sleep, and unable to judge what is real and what isn't. Given the secretive nature of his work, he finds himself in an intense situation that pushes him to his limits.

Kiefer Sutherland admits he’s not feeling well and hasn’t slept for a few days in the opening seconds of Paramount+’s Rabbit Hole teaser trailer.
