Michael Gothard(1939-1992)

Best remembered in Britain for the television series Arthur, Roi des Celtes (1972), Ken Russell's Les Diables (1971) and as the villain in Rien que pour vos yeux (1981). His break into films came with Don Levy's Herostratus (1967). His career was intermittently successful, interspersing notable performances with spells of unemployment. Michael was unmarried, living in Hampstead, London, and under treatment for depression at the time of his suicide in 1992.
