Stephen Colbert has a long and prolific career in comedy and on television, stretching back to his TV debut in 1993 on the mystery series "Missing Persons." One of his notable TV breakouts was the short-lived 1995 sketch comedy series "Exit 57," which he co-created. This led to a longtime gig on "The Daily Show" beginning in 1997, a gig that lasted for eight years and 1,316 episodes. He was also a writer on the show. In 1999, he co-created, starred in, and wrote the cult comedy series "Strangers With Candy," all while taking various acting gigs and voice roles. In 2005, he created "The Colbert Report," which was a spoof of right-wing media punditry, and served to skewer the foolish actions of the George W. Bush administration.
Beginning in 2015, Colbert began hosting "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," one of the sharpest shows on late-night TV. He has nine Emmys. On the show, Colbert regularly and...

Keke Palmer is addressing what motivated her and her team to pull the podcast interview with Jonathan Majors following public outcry.
While promoting Magazine Dreams, Majors was set to appear in an April episode of Palmer’s podcast Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, but the interview was ultimately pulled.

Keke Palmer is finally giving an explanation for why her podcast episode with Jonathan Majors was scrapped. When the podcast episode was teased in March, she received significant backlash for hosting an alleged domestic abuser on her show. It was announced that the episode would premiere on April 8, but it was eventually pulled.

Netflix debuted its new thriller film, Straw, on the platform last Friday, and the film has hit its stride with a legendary run of streaming success. Straw stars Taraji P. Henson and follows a single mother as she finds herself wandering down a path she never envisioned for herself, suddenly in the middle of suspicion in an indifferent world. Straw hit Netflix on June 6, and the film is still the most popular movie on the streamer, sitting at #1 at the time of writing. What makes this even more impressive is that the film has not been particularly well-received by critics or audiences. Straw currently sits at a “rotten” 50% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and even the audience-driven Popcornmeter lands at a 74%.
Straw was written and directed by Tyler Perry, and it also stars Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor, Sinbad, Glynn Turman, and more. Perry will always be known for his work on the Madea franchise,...

"You just have to open your heart and say, ‘The worst has already happened, so now I have everything to gain.’ Even if I get hurt again, it’ll still be worth it — to live, to experience, to love," says Meagan Good, sharing one of the poignant takeaways she hopes viewers embrace from her Lifetime movie, Terry McMillan Presents: Forever.
In the film, Good portrays Carlie, a resilient police officer, cancer survivor, and single mother of two who finds herself opening up to a second chance at love when she meets Johnnie, played by Taye Diggs. Keke Palmer has spent much of her career being the 'real' celebrity — one that speaks their mind and goes against the norm. There's usually not a lot of controversy connected with her image and brand, but promoting a Jonathan Majors podcast episode last week put a dent in fans celebrating One of Them Days being added to Netflix. The episode, which was titled "No Easy Answers: Accountability and Moving Forward With Jonathan Majors," was set to premiere on April 8, 2025, on Palmer's podcast, Baby, This is Keke Palmer. However, it was instantly met with criticism from supporters and social media users who claimed Palmer was assisting Majors in repairing his career.
According to Vulture, the episode was available early to those who were subscribed to Wondery+, but it disappeared from Palmer's feed before its official release date. Instead, listeners saw a replacement interview with rapper Kash Doll, and no acknowledgment...

Actor Jonathan Majors can be one of the finest talents in the industry who rose to prominence with The Last Black Man in San Francisco, but his legal issues and controversies do not make him one of the most liked actors currently. The actor is currently serving a 52-week in-person domestic violence intervention program after he was found guilty of one count of reckless assault in the 3rd degree and a charge of harassment as a violation.
The actor was dropped from several projects, including Marvel Studios, in which he appeared as Kang the Conqueror. Jonathan Majors made a comeback with Magazine Dreams, in which he appeared as Killian Maddox. After a long delay, the movie was finally released in theaters in March and opened to positive reviews. Acclaimed actor Jonathan Majors secures another leading role as his Hollywood comeback efforts gather steam. Majors is the new face of the upcoming action thriller, True Threat.
According to Deadline, Majors is attached to star in True Threat, directed by Fruitvale Station producer and The First Purge director Gerard McMurray. This is the second leading role Majors has earned since his conviction on assault and harassment charges stemming from a 2023 domestic incident, having landed the top part in Martin Villeneuve's revenge thriller, Merciless.
True Threat sees former Marvel star Majors portray Vernon Threat, a Special Forces operative who relentlessly pursues justice after his teenage son is murdered by the Harlem-based gang, The Apollo Kids. During his vengeance-filled journey, Threat infiltrates The Carter, a 20-story project that houses The Apollo Kids, battling his way to the top threat to confront that gang's leader and his mentor, "Shallow." A sci-fi-infused action spectacle that’s toplined by Milla Jovovich and adapted from a video game sits as the most watched genre picture on the Hulu platform today. Surprisingly, I’m not talking about Resident Evil. No, I’m speaking of a lesser-known effort from 2020 called Monster Hunter.
Jovovich’s longtime husband Paul W.S. Anderson is at the helm of this under-seen effort. He also wrote the script. Anderson adapted the screenplay from Kaname Fujioka’s video game series.
From my vantage point, it seems Capcom hoped to recapture the success of the Resident Evil franchise by adapting another popular genre game for the screen with Jovovich in the lead and Anderson at the helm. Like with Resident Evil, Jovovich plays a character written for the film who doesn’t exist within the video game franchise.
Monster Hunter is a film on Hulu that has yet to find its audience.

Jonathan Majors’ reputation has been in the ground. Ever since the actor was accused of assault by his ex-girlfriend, he lost everything within the span of weeks. Although he has served his punishment, not being given jail time, his image still finds it difficult to recover from such a major hit.

Hollywood drama never takes a day off, and the latest installment in the ongoing saga of “celebrity moments turned internet debates” stars none other than Jonathan Majors, Meagan Good, and Michael Ealy. It all started when a seemingly innocent hug between Good and Ealy set social media ablaze, with armchair analysts dissecting every frame.
Was it a friendly embrace? A power move? A secret handshake from an elite league of Hollywood heartthrobs? The internet had questions, and theories flew faster than a Marvel multiverse twist.

Naturally, Majors found himself in the eye of the storm, with fans speculating that he was salty about the whole thing. But did he really care? Or was this just another case of social media making a mountain out of a hug-shaped molehill?

The Loki actor Jonathan Majors was convicted for harassing and assaulting his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in 2023. As he came out of that controversy, Rolling Stone recently shared an audio recording alleging that the actor admitted he physically assaulted his ex-girlfriend. However, amid all of these, Majors announced that he has tied the knot with his current fiance Meagan Good, and is now in a happy place.
For the uninitiated, after Majors was convicted of his crimes, Jabbari dropped the charges following a settlement with the actor. Apparently, before asking Good to marry him, he had a talk with her father that gave him the green signal to further proceed with his marriage proposal.
In an interview with Sherri Shephard on Sherri, Jonathan Majors opened up about his marriage amid his domestic assault scandal’s new evidence and Magazine Dreams press tour.

After his exit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (and subsequent legal troubles), Jonathan Majors has been looking to get his acting career back on track. It begins with the release of his newest movie, Magazine Dreams, which drops in theaters on March 21.
Days ahead of the movie's premiere, Magazine Dreams garnered its debut Rotten Tomatoes score with its early reviews by critics. The film has a Certified Fresh score of 84%, which is one of the best-rated films of Majors' career. The former MCU star's performance in particular is getting big praise from many critics, with some suggesting he'd likely have been up for an Oscar for his role if not for his real-life controversies.
As Silver Screen Riot critic Matt Oakes stated, "In another multiverse, Majors could have won an Academy Award for his work here. In this one, it may end up being the tragic capstone on a too-short career.

The last time Jonathan Majors sat down for rounds of interviews at a press junket, it was late February 2023. He was the fastest-rising star in Hollywood, with his big-screen Marvel debut as Kang the Conqueror in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” released just ahead of Michael B. Jordan’s boxing blockbuster “Creed III.”
But a month after reaching that pinnacle, Majors was arrested following a fight with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Then, in a highly publicized criminal trial, Majors was convicted of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault. As a result, the actor’s career imploded. Marvel fired him, scrapping his character’s multi-picture arc, and several other film projects (including a Dennis Rodman biopic and a movie with Spike Lee) fell apart. “Magazine Dreams,” a searing look at a dangerously unbalanced bodybuilder that had generated awards buzz for Majors after screening in Sundance, was dropped by its distributor,...

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, interwoven films and limited series spin tales of epic heroes built from dust, battles waged for love, and villainous origins that span decades, planets, and even the space-time continuum. Perhaps it’s this framework that has transformed the public ousting of star Jonathan Majors from a cautionary tale about abusive actors into the setting for a hero’s potential comeback story.
Majors, who was convicted in December 2023 of recklessly assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, has spent the past month staging a steadfast attempt at career rehabilitation.

Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are reportedly married.
Recently, the actor did an in-depth interview as part of an apparent attempt to repair his image.
It’s likely to work — even if some critics argue that he’s merely using the language of therapy to depict himself as a changed man.
But Majors has clearly convinced one person that he has changed. Or that he was never a bad dude. Because now she is reportedly his wife.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Briarcliff Entertainment CEO Tom Ortenberg teased what to expect from Magazine Dreams after his studio acquired the film's rights from the Disney-owned Searchlight Pictures amid Majors' legal woes. According to Ortenberg, Briarcliff will show Magazine Dreams in 800 theaters, possibly increasing its distribution should demand pick up. “Anecdotally, we know that Black audiences — both men and women — are extremely enthused about the film,” he said. “There is also pent-up demand from the art house audience, which has been waiting for it since Sundance. And the bodybuilding audience is enormously enthused about this film.”

In December 2023, Jonathan Majors walked through a dense thicket of news cameras and climbed into the back of a black Chevy Suburban pulling away from the criminal courthouse in lower Manhattan. After a highly publicized trial, Majors had just learned that a jury convicted him of one count of misdemeanor third-degree assault and one count of second-degree harassment of his ex-girlfriend, British dancer Grace Jabbari. Inside the hushed car, a member of his legal team turned around from the front seat and delivered the next piece of news. “He goes, ‘I’m just gonna tell you now,’” Majors says. “That way you’re not surprised, and you can start processing it. They fired you. Marvel fired you.’”
Before his arrest that March, Majors was fresh off the Warner Bros. box office hit Creed III, the Marvel movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and an Emmy nomination for the HBO series Lovecraft Country.
