Steven M. Gold is a composer and music producer, working primarily in the areas of television and film. He has won a Grammy for his work on "A Colbert Christmas - The Greatest Gift of All" (best comedy album, 2009), and a contributing Emmy for his work on Saturday Night Live for the Robert Smigel cartoons. The opening song to the 2011 Tony Awards, which he produced with songwriters Adam Schlesinger and David Javerbaum, received an Emmy this year, and some of his other collaborations were nominated (2 Tony nods and 2 Daytime Emmy nods). He has worked on several other television shows including "Wedding Band" (TBS), "Fresh Beat Band" (Nickelodeon) and "T.U.F.F. Puppy" (Nickelodeon). As a composer, shows include "The Colbert Report" (Tek Jansen cartoons), "Chappelle's Show" (Comedy Central), "The Man Show" (Comedy Central), and 9 seasons of Saturday Night Live's film and cartoon segments, Also, four "Night of Too Many Stars" specials (Comedy Central) which benefits children with autism. Film work includes producing 3 songs on "Music and Lyrics" (Warner Bros), a song for "Ice Age 4-Continental Drift" (20th Century Fox), and score cues on Whit Stillman's "Damsels in Distress" including the opening titles.
