  • Competed against himself in the Film Editing category at the 2013 Oscars. Was nominated for Best Film Editing for both "Argo" and "Zero Dark Thirty" (he won for the former).
  • Started his career as film editor under the supervision of editor Michael Kahn. They were both nominated at the 2013's Oscar in the Best Editing category - Goldenberg with two nominations, one for Argo (2012) and another for Zero Dark Thirty (2012), while Kahn was nominated for Lincoln (2012). Goldenberg beat his master by winning his first Oscar for Argo (2012), though Kahn already had 3 Oscars.
  • As of 2017, he has been involved with the editing of five films that were nominated for the Best Picture Oscar: Révélations (1999), Pur sang: la légende de Seabiscuit (2003), Argo (2012), Zero Dark Thirty (2012) and Imitation Game (2014). Of those, Argo (2012) is a winner in the category and also earned him an Oscar for best editing.
