    • Vadim Glowna was born on September 26, 1941 in Eutin, Germany. He was an actor and director, known for Croix de fer (1977), Desperado City (1981) and Plus rien à perdre (1983). He was married to Vera Tschechowa. He died on January 24, 2012 in Berlin, Germany.

  • Made his screen debut in Le lac aux chimères (1943), a feature film by the infamous Nazi propaganda director Veit Harlan, when he was only 8 months old in 1942.
  • His film Desperado City (1981) won the Golden Camera at the 34th Cannes International Film Festival in 1981. It was presented in the Directors' Fortnight section of the festival.
  • Member of the 'Official Competition' jury at the 39th Berlin International Film Festival in 1989.
  • After abandoning his studies, he worked as a sailor, taxi driver, drummer and journalist in Hamburg.
  • Played at the Schauspielhaus in Hamburg under Gustaf Gründgens.
