Science fiction horror “Pandorum” should keep fans of the genre on the edge of their seats under the direction of “Antibodies” helmer Christian Alvart. The new sci-fi thriller Surrogates will give us a very unique vision of the future, when the film hits theaters on September 25. In this futuristic world, everyone lives their lives from the comfort of their own home, with these robotic Surrogates taking the place of actual humans, who control their Surrogates from home in their "stim chairs." But when some surrogates are killed with a new weapon that also kills the person controlling them, FBI Agent Greer (Bruce Willis) must investigate this new phenomena with his partner (Rahda Mitchell) and must do the unthinkable: go into the world without his surrogate.

We’ve just received two brand new clips from sci-fi thriller Surrogates, starring Bruce Willis, Radha Mitchell, Rosamund Pike, James Francis Ginty, Boris Kodjoe and Ving Rhames. The film is directed by Jonathan Mostow.

In the near future, humans live in isolation and only interact through robotic bodies that serve as surrogates. When several humans are murdered when their surrogates are destroyed, a cop (Bruce Willis) investigates the crimes through his own surrogate. After a near fatal encounter, the cop’s surrogate is destroyed and forces him to bring his human form out of isolation and unravel a conspiracy behind the crimes.

Labor Day weekend is coming up, and it's a holiday that marks the end of the summer movie season along with summer itself. All the kids are heading back to the classroom for another dreaded year of school and (for those in L.A. like myself) the weather starts to cool... hopefully. While fall usually isn't seen as a cinematic hotbed, with the blockbuster summer season over, there are still plenty of quality films to check out at the box office. It’s official – Bruce Willis has announced that he will be joining Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dolph Lundgren and Steve Austin in The Expendables!

MTV quizzed the star about the casting news, but unfortunately Willis was cagey to say the least. The star admitted he hadn’t yet been given any dates for shooting, and when questioned about his role he told MTV he had no idea:

“I don’t know anything about [my character] yet, haven’t seen any pages yet,” Willis explained. “But I’m excited about it.”

Willis confirmed the role would include a scene with fellow Hollywood powerhouses Stallone and Schwarzenegger sharing some screen time:

“That’s the concept,” he said with a grin. “That’s the plan.”

The first trailer for Jonathan Mostow's upcoming sci-fi action flick "Surrogates" has debuted online, and you can check it out below. Robot flicks are all over the big-screen these days, and this one is no different: the film is set in a futuristic world where humans live in isolation and interact vicariously through surrogate robots. Bruce Willis plays a cop forced to leave his home for the first time in years to investigate the murders of some of these surrogates.

The cast also includes Ving Rhames, Radha Mitchell, Rosamund Pike, James Francis Ginty and Michael O'Toole. "Surrogates" is based on a graphic novel, and even though I can't say I'm overly excited about this first trailer, I still admit I'm curious to find out how intriguing the film is when it opens in theaters Sept. 25, 2009. An extended preview of Johnathan Mostow's cyberpunk mystery thriller, Surrogates, has appeared over at io9 and it's chock full of meaty footage from the film. While I really like the idea of the film - people using avatar robots to live their lives while they chill at home - I find that some of the footage looks a bit like a television show, almost similar in look and design to the recently released Caprica. Of course (and this taking into account that you can never really tell with internet clips), there's always the chance that Mostow was going for a Stepford Wives look - a too-perfect-to-be-true world that, when you scratch away the surface, is a dark and rotten dystopia.
