Anne Cooper made her motion picture debut in "Crimewave," in a small role alongside Frances McDormand. A student of Uta Hagen, Michael Schurtleff, and Gary Austin, of Groundlings fame, she built her career as a character actor and continues to work today in film/TV/theatre. She has a BA from Eastern Michigan University and attended LAMDA after graduation. She has worked with iconic directors such as Paul Schrader, Kat Coiro, and Sam Raimi, and performed alongside Jennifer Lopez, John Bradley, Angela Lansbury, Danny DeVito, and William Hurt. A misdiagnosis resulted in the loss of her voice for 15 years, but, eventually, with medical intervention she could speak again, allowing her to resume her career. Cooper can be heard performing new plays on the Open-Door Playhouse podcast, which has supported playwrights, actors, and directors during the pandemic. She continues to work in theatres across the country in both classical and contemporary plays. Her latest role was Marilyn in David Lindsay-Abaire's "Ripcord." Her latest film, "Marry Me" with Jennifer Lopez, opened in 2022. Ms. Cooper has directed and developed plays in NYC and LA. She is a theatre consultant to LA GOAL, which provides services for adults with developmental disabilities. She is on the summer theatre faculty at Interlochen Center for the Arts.
