Faidon Georgitsis studied at the Drama Schools of Karolos Koun, Hristos Vahliotis and Pellos Katselis. His screen debut was in Jules Dassin's Jamais le dimanche (1960) (followed next by their collaborations in Phèdre (1962) and Cri de femmes (1978) too), as well as other memorable films of great directors such as Vasilis Georgiadis' Les lanternes rouges (1963) and Du sang sur la terre (1965) (as well as a cameo in Gamos ala... ellinika (1964) too), Takis Kanellopoulos' Le ciel (1962) and Michael Cacoyannis' Notre dernier printemps (1960). Among others, he had collaborated with Karolos Koun in his Art Theater and the National Theatre of Northern Greece. Besides his acting work, he had also directed films and several stage plays.
