Biography

At the time of her death she was known under the name Jane Goerner; she had her name legally changed following the end of her film career in an effort to give the next chapter of her life more of a 'fresh start'.

She was one of Sam Goldwyn's troop of 6 goodwill glamor missionaries who toured England and Paris in 1946, according to an article in Picture Post 19 October 1946. The others included Mary Brewer.

Following the end of her film career, she supplemented her income by teaching art and music out of her home.

She was the oldest of three sisters; Edith (b. 1929), Anna (b. 1933), and Martha (b. 1938).

She was appointed as "Miss Minnesota of 1942" by the Chamber of Commerce of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the council even covered the cost of airfare to have her come visit her roots to accept the award.
