Beyonce Snubbed by Country Music Awards; Beyhive Vows Revenge
Image
Country music’s biggest night will be without one of the world’s biggest celebrities.

And the world is in shock as a result.

On Monday, September 6, the Country Music Association revealed the full list of nominees for the 58th Annual CMA Awards… with Morgan Wallen leading the pack with seven total nods.

As for Beyonce? She received not a single one.

Not. A. Single. One.

The shut-out is galling and surprising because Beyonce took a critically-acclaimed leap by releasing her first-ever country music album a short time ago.

It debuted atop the charts.

Back in March, the superstar explained the inspiration behind “Cowboy Carter” by saying project was “born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed.

2024 CMA Awards nominations list: Morgan Wallen leads with 7
Image
The 58th Annual Country Music Association Awards take place on November 20 at 8:00pm Eastern on ABC, and the nominations have officially been announced. Scroll down to see the complete list.

Morgan Wallen leads the way with seven nominations. He’s followed by Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton with five, while Post Malone and Lainey Wilson picked up four. This was Malone’s first foray into country music, and it proved successful. Mysteriously, Beyonce wasn’t received as warmly; she and her “Cowboy Carter” crossover album were snubbed entirely.

Wallen, Stapleton and Wilson are up for Entertainer of the Year, joined by Luke Combs and Jelly Roll who have three nominations apiece. Wilson was the surprise winner in 2023, making her the first woman in 12 years to take the prize. Before her Taylor Swift prevailed in 2009 and 2011, and if Wilson wins again she will join Swift and Barbara Mandrell on the very,...

Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ Shut Out From CMA Nominations
Image
There’s one surprising name missing from the Country Music Association Awards list of 2024 nominees: Beyoncé. The artist’s country and Americana album “Cowboy Carter” did not receive any nominations from the awards organization.

Instead, the most nominated artist of the 2024 CMA Awards is Morgan Wallen, who is nominated for major honors including Entertainer of the Year, Single of the Year and Song of the Year. As for CMA Entertainer of the Year — the awards show’s biggest honor — that battle will be taking place this year between Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen and Lainey Wilson.

Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton tied for the second most-nominated artists with five nods apiece. They were then followed by Post Malone and Lainey Wilson, who each secured four nominations, as well as Louis Bell, Luke Combs, Charlie Handsome, Hoskins, Jelly Roll, Megan Moroney and Kacey Musgraves, who each secured three nominations.

The Country Music Association has announced the nominees for the 2024 CMA Awards!

The 58th Annual CMA Awards broadcasts live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena Wednesday, November 20 starting 8 p.m. Et on ABC and next day on Hulu.

The nominees were determined by eligible voting CMA members comprised of professionals within the country music industry.

Morgan Wallen leads with seven nominations, while other top nominees include Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton with five nominations, and Post Malone and Lainey Wilson with four nominations each.

Carrie Underwood’s Next Date Night Is Long Overdue on ‘Take Me Out’
Image
Date night can’t come soon enough for Carrie Underwood on her latest single “Take Me Out,” set to appear on the deluxe edition of Denim & Rhinestones when it arrives Sept. 22. She isn’t even particularly picky about where the night takes her. A fancy restaurant or a dingy dive bar would do the trick.

“Take me out on the town/Flirt with me in the dark/Make my heart skip a beat/Like only you can do to me/Stealin’ kisses in some old dive bar,” she sings, later...

Real Madrid, Barca both lose as Vinicius sees red in Valencia
Image
Madrid, May 22 (Ians) Real Madrid endured another setback this week, succumbing to a 1-0 defeat away to Valencia.

Thanks to a first-half goal from young striker Diego Lopez, Valencia practically ensured their continued place in the top-flight, reports Xinhua.

Lopez struck just past the half-hour mark, capitalizing on a mishit shot from Justin Kluivert. This ultimately awarded his team all three points against a significantly changed Madrid lineup, a stark contrast from the one that suffered a 4-0 defeat to Manchester City in Wednesday’s Champions League match.

Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili showcased a series of exceptional saves to clinch the victory.

However, the match will also be memorable for off-field incidents. Madrid winger Vinicius Jr was provoked into an angry reaction following a racist insult from a fan in the stands and had to be placated by both rivals and teammates.

In the 96th minute, Vinicius Jr was shown...

Real Sociedad spoil Barca's title party, while Cadiz, Almeria take big steps towards survival
Image
Madrid, May 21 (Ians) Real Sociedad took a big step towards assuring a fourth place in La Liga when they beat this season’s champions Fc Barcelona 2-1 in the Camp Nou Stadium on Saturday night.

Real Sociedad formed a guard of honor for Barcelona’s title and then opened the scoring when Mikel Merino put them ahead after some careless defending from the home side. Martin Zubimendi, who Barca have made no secret of their interest in signing, had a big hand in the second goal when he set up Alexander Sorloth to make it 2-0 with 20 minutes left to play.

With the fans in Camp Nou chanting “Messi”, Robert Lewandowski netted a last-minute consolation for Barca, a Xinhua report said.

Real Sociedad have now won four times in Camp Nou in their history, with three of those wins coming after they formed a guard of honor for Barca. The...

Rodrygo the hero as Real Madrid beat Osasuna in Copa del Rey final
Image
Madrid, May 7 (Ians) Two goals from Real Madrid striker Rodrygo gave his side a 2-1 win in the final of the Spanish Copa del Rey against a courageous Osasuna on Saturday night.

The result means Real have won the Cup 20 times in history, while Osasuna’s second final appearance ended with the same result as the previous one, which they lost 2-1 to Betis in 2005.

Rodrigo opened the scoring for Real Madrid in the opening minute. Vinicius Jr was given too much space to turn past Jon Moncayola and Ruben Pena before pulling the ball back for his teammate to score with a shot that deflected over keeper Sergio Herrera.

Osasuna reacted well with Aridane and Ante Budimir heading at Thibaut Courtois before Aimar Oroz fired just wide, a Xinhua report said.

Vinicius was Real Madrid’s main threat and Moncayola was given a yellow card for pulling the Brazilian back,...

Carrie Underwood Sings ‘Low,’ Talks Women in Country on ‘Colbert’
Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood made her debut appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Thursday night, both performing and visiting with the host.

For her performance, Underwood chose the deep cut “Low” off her latest album Cry Pretty. Written by Underwood with Hillary Lindsey and David Garcia, the slow-burning song gave the Oklahoma native the opportunity to show off her unmatched voice, which rose to a crescendo in tandem with the band by song’s end.

Underwood also chatted with Colbert for an interview segment, in which she recalled auditioning...

Carrie Underwood Announces New Album, ‘Cry Pretty’
Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood announced today that “Cry Pretty,” her first studio album on Capitol Records Nashville, will be released on Sept. 14.

The album’s title track and lead single was released on April 11, and the singer performed it Sunday night at the Academy of Country Music Awards in her first public appearance since suffering an injury that left her with a broken wrist and 40 to 50 stitches in her face (from which she seems to have recovered quite nicely). Also at the awards she took home her 14th Acm Award, this one Vocal Event of the Year for “The Fighter,” her duet with Keith Urban.

In addition to co-writing the single with Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna, and Liz Rose (aka The Love Junkies), Underwood co-producing the album with writer-producer David Garcia.

Underwood says, “At this point in my career, I feel stronger and more creative than ever. I think you can hear that in this new album.

Carrie Underwood Makes First Public Appearance Since ‘Gruesome’ Facial Injury on Acm Awards (Watch)
Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood made her first public appearance since suffering an accident at home in November that left her with a broken wrist and 40 to 50 stitches in her face — and on the basis of the performance as well as the photo she posted on Instagram yesterday, we’d never have known she’d been injured. She delivered a powerful performance of “Cry Pretty,” the first single from her forthcoming album, her first for Universal Nashville, which does not yet have a title or a release date.

Wearing sparkles around her eyes in the shape of tears, as she does in the visuals for the single, traces of any injury were not detectable on television. Reactions on social media after her performance ranged from enthusiasm to relief to confusion to cynicism.

Carrie Underwood Posts First Close-Up Facial Photo Since ‘Gruesome’ Accident
Carrie Underwood
In a post on her website last week, Carrie Underwood said her face is “healing pretty nicely” since a November accident that required 40 to 50 stitches to her face — and based on a photo she posted on Instagram late Saturday in advance of her performance on the Acm Awards Sunday, she’s right.

While the caption for that post said simply, “Had a great rehearsal for the @acmawards ! Can’t wait until tomorrow night!,” she wrote at greater length about the injury in the note on her website.

“First off, physically, I’m doing pretty darn good these days!,” she wrote. “My wrist is almost back to normal, about 90% there…and the docs say that last 10% will come in time. And my face has been healing pretty nicely as well. I definitely feel more like myself than I have in a while.”

The song she’ll perform at the show is “Cry Pretty,...
