  • Darnell Garcia is a former Los Angeles police officer who was recruited by the DEA to become a Drug Enforcement Agent. In 1988, at 43 years of age Garcia was charged with drug trafficking, money laundering and providing intelligence information to a fugitive drug dealer. The government charged that Garcia and another DEA agent John Jackson stole narcotics and cash from the drug agency's vault and cashier's office in its district headquarters. A third agent, Wayne Countryman, was indicted as an accomplice. He served 21 years in federal prison. He was released from federal prison in November 2011.
