Vladimir Ganev(I)

Vladimir Ganev was born on September 14, 1947 in the town Burgas, Bulgaria. In 1965 he graduated from high school and during the period 1968-1971 was a student in Civil Engineering Institute in Sofia. In the same period he worked as an assistant with the cameraman Hristo Totev in Bulgarian TV. From 1971 to 1975 he was a student at Cinema Institute, Moscow. He studied "Screenwriting." In 1975 he became appointed editor, then a screenwriter in "Boyana " Studios, Sofia, Bulgaria. In the ten years of participation in Bulgarian cinema (1975-1985) Vladimir Ganev was editor and author of the dialogue in more than thirty feature films. In 1985 he emigrated with his family for political reasons in Canada. Better known feature films, taken in his scenario are: "The Swan" - directed by Rumen Surdzhiyski (1975), "The Swap" - directed by Georg Djulgerov (1976), "Monologue for pig" - directed by Slav Bakalov (1977; the film was not to be shown for ideological reasons), " Lonely Ball " - directed Ivan Nitchev (1978; the film was not to be shown for ideological reasons, it was shown after 1989), "Game of love" - directed by Janush Vazov (1979) "Combine" - directed by Nicolay Rudarov (1980), "On the letter" G "- TV movie, directed by Ivan Pavlov (1981)," Black and white "- directed by Ivan Pavlov (1982)," The Wall "- directed by Emil Tzanev (1983), "Interlocutor optional" - directed by Hristo Hristov (1984), "Cat Tail" - directed by Virginia Kostadinova (1985), "Small Tales" - directed by Vladimir Kraev (2007). He wrote the screenplays for 15 documentaries.
