- Received the National Cartoonists Society's Milton Caniff Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998.
- Received the National Cartoonists Society's Elzie Segar Award in 1976.
- Received the National Cartoonists Society's Silver T-Square Award in 1978.
- Inducted into the National Cartoonists Society Hall of Fame in 2009.
