Indie fan favorites The Barn and The Barn Part II, both of which are now streaming on Screambox, celebrated Halloween in throwback style, and the success of those films has paved the way for The Barn Part III. Director Justin Seaman is now raising finishing funds for the project over on Indiegogo, and Bloody Disgusting has the exclusive poster reveal.

Director Cosmos Kiindarius made his feature directorial debut with the 2016 thriller Stand, which was about American brothers who head out into the Vietnam jungle and get trapped in a mine field that was left over from the war. Now he’s about to head into production on his second film, a psychological horror tale called Dirt, and he has gotten some genre icons to join the cast. Dirt will feature Malcolm McDowell of A Clockwork Orange (and the Rob Zombie Halloween movies), A Nightmare on Elm Street heroine Heather Langenkamp, and Courtney Gains from the Stephen King adaptation Children of the Corn. Also in the cast are James Paxton, who recently appeared in Twisters and happens to be the son of Bill Paxton, Emily Tosta (Mayans Mc), and Owen Vaccaro (The House with a Clock in Its Walls). Filming is set to begin in New Mexico this November.

Keke Palmer is set to star in and executive produce The Burbs, a contemporary series adaptation of the 1989 movie of the same name starring Tom Hanks and Carrie Fisher. Peacock has given the project a straight-to-series order. Celeste Hughey (Dead to Me) will write and executive produce it.

The 'Burbs is getting rebooted at Peacock. The streaming platform has given a straight to series order for a new show that reimagines the Tom Hanks movie from 1989.

On Thursday, it was announced that the reboot series is officially in development. The new series will star Keke Palmer, who's also on board as an executive producer alongside series writer Celeste Hughey. Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, Erica Huggins, and Aimee Carlson will also be serving as executive producers for Fuzzy Door, as will Brian Grazer, Kristen Zolner, and Natalie Berkus for Imagine Entertainment. Exclusive: Stephen Dorff (True Detective), John Rhys-Davies (The Lord Of The Rings) and Beau Bridges (Matlock) are attached to join true crime action-drama Fruit of the Poisonous Tree.

Edith Productions is behind the project, which is being lined up to shoot in April in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Wrath of Becky had its successful premiere at the South By Southwest film festival this month, delighting audiences with the gore and sass of its tiny killing machine. That's not a bad thing if you're into watching a Girl Scout assassin brutalize Proud Boys lookalikes with a smile on her face. Violence emphasizes excessive gore, real bad dudes get what's coming, and the action hero mold is flipped on its head with Becky front and center. Angel and Coote brighten the mood versus "Becky" and embrace the B-movie nature of Becky's somewhat unstoppable spree. Still, this time, there's less suspenseful impact by trading feral ferocity for this almost superhero nature that leans into Becky's franchise potential.

Seven months have gone by since we heard the awesome news that production had wrapped on The Wrath of Becky, a sequel to the very cool “ultra violent Home Alone” thriller Becky (watch it Here, read the 9/10 review the film received from our own Lance Vlcek Here). We still don’t know when The Wrath of Becky is going to receive a wide release, but it has been announced that the movie is going to have a world premiere screening at the South by Southwest film festival in March – and along with that announcement comes the unveiling of a first look image, which can be seen at the bottom of this article. Holy hell this year’s SXSW Film Festival isn’t messing around.

The official lineup has just been revealed and it’s a banger, starting off with a special screening of Evil Dead Rise!

In addition, they have several prominent horror titles that will premiere as part of the Midnighters program, including the Sundance hit Talk to Me and the surprise sequel to Becky, The Wrath of Becky!
