Batman: Hush Blu-ray Review
When it comes to Batman: Hush, you could say I’ve waited years for it to be adapted to a movie – because I have. It goes without saying that every fan of the Caped Crusader who reads comics has a favorite storyline to call their own, and mine is the classic written by Jeph Loeb and illustrated by Jim Lee. Finally, the talented folks developing these DC animated films were given the green light to bring it to life.

If I had to say why I loved the comic so much, it’s probably because it was a riveting mystery that simultaneously functioned as an entry level story you could hand to anybody in order to school them on Batman’s world. Pretty much all of his top-tier supporting characters and villains were present, so it was kind of an encyclopedia with a narrative. Plus, it took the Batman-Catwoman romance to the next level,...

Christian Bale in The Dark Knight : Le Chevalier noir (2008)
Batman: Hush Review: Another Stellar Entry in DC's Animated Universe
Christian Bale in The Dark Knight : Le Chevalier noir (2008)
The Dark Knight gets hot and heavy with Catwoman while being threatened by a mysterious villain. Batman: Hush is an action-packed, decidedly more adult entry in the DC Animated Universe. Crisp animation and a clever plot keeps the pacing sleek. Adapted from the brilliant comic series by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee, Batman: Hush also follows up on events after Reign of the Supermen; with the voice cast reprising their roles. Gotham's rogues gallery does some of their best supporting work. I rarely find Poison Ivy (Peyton List) interesting, but she's nearly a scene stealer here.

Batman: Hush begins with Bruce Wayne (Jason O'Mara) seeing Selina Kyle (Jennifer Morrison) at a fundraiser. Their mutual attraction reignites before Batman is called away urgently. Bane (Adam Gifford) has kidnapped a child for ransom. When Batman faces the venom fueled brute, he notices Bane's odd behavior. Catwoman joins the fracas, but we soon...

Batman Fights Bane and Catwoman in 2 New Clips From DC Animation's Batman: Hush
Warner Bros. has released a couple of new clips from their upcoming new DC animated film Batman: Hush. The first clip is called “Batman Vs. Bane” so, of course, you are going to get to see the two characters brutally fight! The second clip is called “Cat Chase” which features Batman chasing down Catwoman.

I’m a big fan of this Batman storyline which was originally written by Jeph Loeb with art by Jim Lee. I liked the first trailer that was released and there’s a good chance this will be a decent adaptation that fans will enjoy. Here’s the synopsis for those of you not familiar with the story:

Batman: Hush centers on a mysterious new villain known only as Hush, who uses a rogues’ gallery of villains to destroy Batman’s crime-fighting career as well as Bruce Wayne’s personal life, which has been further complicated...

Batman: Hush Trailer Brings Gotham's Greatest Villains Out of Hiding
Warner Bros. has released the first full-length trailer for Batman Hush. This is the latest in a long series of animated DC Comics adaptations that have proved to be very solid and welcome additions for fans. Only occasionally do we get the major slip up. In this case, the studio is tackling one of the character's most beloved and seminal storylines in what looks to be an action-packed and totally stuffed to the gills animated tour of Gotham City.

Things kick off with a, shall we say, heated chase between Batman and Catwoman. It gets progressively tense from there, as Poison Ivy is controlling Superman, which leads to some pretty epic destruction. As it turns out, there's a mysterious villain pulling the strings from behind the scenes known only (as the title implies) Hush. From there it becomes a cat and mouse game, with the who's who of Batman's rogues...

DC's Animated Film Adaptation of Batman: Hush Gets a First Trailer
Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for their upcoming new DC animated film Batman: Hush. I love this Batman story and it’s great to see that it’s finally getting an animated film adaptation. It looks like it’ll be a pretty solid movie. I liked what I saw in this first trailer.

The original story was written by Jeph Loeb and it featured art by Jim Lee penciling, Scott Williams inking, and Alex Sinclair coloring. Here’s the synopsis for those of you not familiar:

Batman: Hush centers on a mysterious new villain known only as Hush, who uses a rogues’ gallery of villains to destroy Batman’s crime-fighting career as well as Bruce Wayne’s personal life, which has been further complicated by a relationship with Selina Kyle/Catwoman.

The film will be voiced by a slew of DC veterans as well as some new blood.

First Look at Batman Hush Arrives as Cast Is Announced
DC Comics' Batman Hush is finally getting adapted for the screen. The long-awaited animated movie has announced its official cast and released a first-look image. The original comics were created by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee in 2002 and they are highly respected by Batman fans who have been awaiting the movie for nearly 20 years now. The story arc introduced the villainous Hush to the DC Comics universe and brought along a bunch of familiar faces, which the movie will be doing too.

While many fans expected Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill to voice Batman and Joker, respectively, that isn't the case for Batman: Hush. The cast includes Jason O'Mara as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Jennifer Morrison as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Jerry O'Connell as Superman, Rebecca Romijn as Lois Lane, Rainn Wilson as Lex Luther, Sean Maher as Nightwing, Bruce Thomas as Jim Gordon, Stuart Allan as Damian Wayne, James Garrett as Alfred,...

The story sees the Dark Knight confronting a mysterious new villain called Hush and features a number of friends and foes from the DC mythos. It’s ripe to be brought to the screen, then, and now Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released a first look at the movie.

Courtesy of IGN comes our first image from Batman: Hush, depicting the Caped Crusader hurling a Batarang at an unseen assailant. Along with the pic, we also have the casting information for the film and can confirm that Jason O’Mara, a veteran of these movies by now, is returning to voice Bruce Wayne.

Man Down – Review
With just a few weeks to go in 2016, it’s time to hit the sand with another film set in the (seems like) ongoing hotspot of the world, the Middle East. And while the recent Allied was set in the days of the second world war, this one deals with the current conflict. This time of year has been the release time for several of those armed forces features. Winter of 2013 had Lone Survivor while the following year American Sniper was a surprise box office smash. Odd, that this year we’ve seen three comedies use the war as a backdrop. There was Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, War Dogs, and Billy Lynn’S Long Halftime Walk (it might be a comedy, who knows?). But things are very grim and dour as Shia La Beouf reunites with writer/director Dito Montiel nearly ten years after A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints for the drama Man Down.

John Swetnam To Scribe Step Up 5
The next installment in the wildly popular Step Up franchise is on the way. Summit Entertainment has reportedly tapped screenwriter John Swetnam (Black Sky) to pen the script for the project with Scott Speer returning to direct.

The plan is to reunite the leads from all of the previous films. And you probably remember Magic Mike star Channing Tatum got his start in Hollywood with the dance movie Step Up in 2006. In the follow-up to the smash hit, Step Up 2 the Streets Tatum popped up in a cameo scene. Step Up 3D then hit in 2010 with a tight-knit group of New York City street dancers.

Step Up: Revolution was the fourth of the Step Up movies, a series of unconnected stories that serve as showcases for the kinds of young stars (e.g. Channing met his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum on the set of Step Up in 2006). However, this will...

Step Up 5 To Bring Back The Stars Of The Franchise
While the embarrassing failure of Rock of Ages and the undeniable success of Les Miserables has bloggers and critics pondering the future of movie musicals, there's one musical franchise that is two-stepping its way to the bank over and over. No matter that critics have panned every entry in the Step Up film series, these dance-centered dramas sing at the box office. So following hot on the heels of Step Up Revolution, which pulled in more than $140 million worldwide, Summit Entertainment is prepping for Step Up 5. Deadline reports up-and-coming screenwriter John Swetnam has been hired to pen the fifth entry in the franchise, which will reportedly (and predictably) end with a big dance-off wherein stars of the previous films can make cameos. This will likely mean that beloved dancers like Stephen 'tWitch' Boss, Adam G. 'Moose' Sevani, and Mari Koda will appear, though they may not star. Less likely though...

Synopsis for Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore’s “Lol”
We brought you news here of some additional casting for “Lol”, a coming of age comedy starring Demi Moore and Miley Cyrus as mother and daughter, with Thomas Jane (The Mist, Deep Blue Sea, The Punisher), Ashley Greene (Twilight: Eclipse), Adam G Sevani (Step Up 2 & 3D), Gina Gershon (Bound, Face/Off, Showgirls) and Jay Hernandez (Hostel, World Trade Center, Quarantine) fleshing out the cast.

Collider did have some on-set pics, but sadly had to take them down. What remains though is a more detailed synopsis, as follows:-

In a world connected by YouTube, iTunes and Facebook, Lola (Miley Cyrus) and her friends navigate the peer pressures of high school romance and friendship while dodging their sometimes overbearing and confused parents. When Lola’s mom, Anne (Demi Moore), “accidentally” reads her teenage daughter’s racy journal, she realizes just how wide their communication gap has grown. Through hilarious and heartfelt moments between mother and daughter,...

This week's new films
Knight And Day (12A)

(James Mangold, 2010, Us) Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Peter Sarsgaard. 109 mins

Tropic Thunder proved that Cruise could laugh at himself, but despite a hint of self-parodying craziness here, we're not necessarily laughing with him this time. Never one to pass up an alpha-male role, Cruise plays an indestructible rogue superspy in this Grazia-friendly action comedy, co-opting civilian Diaz into a series of tense situations, most of which we never see them getting out of; he simply drugs her and she wakes up somewhere else when it's all over, in a different set of clothes. Who says romance is dead? He's supposed to be Bourne with a smile but he's more like the Milk Tray man as an international date rapist.

Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky (15)

(Jan Kounen, 2009, Fra) Anna Mouglalis, Mads Mikkelsen, Yelena Morozova. 119 mins
