Composer, songwriter ("If You Are But a Dream", "Ivory Tower", "Wanted"), singer, author and musician, educated in high school and thereafter a member of the Paul Whiteman orchestra for eight years and on the air with CBS for 22 years. Joining ASCAP in 1943, his musical collaborators included Lois Steele, and his other popular-song compositions included "Peace", "Mrs. Santa Claus", "Make America Proud of You", "My Greatest Mistake", and "Until".
