Michael Weatherly on the NCIS Scene That Spoiled Kate Todd’s Death: “If you watch the scene in slow motion…”
Image
When NCIS first aired in 2003, fans had no idea the show would become one of TV’s longest-running hits. Apart from the brilliant storytelling, it was the characters that truly captivated the viewers. So, it came as a huge shock when Special Agent Kate Todd was killed off heartbreakingly in Season 2.

Played by actress Sasha Alexander, Kate was a fan favorite, and her death hit hard. Years later, Alexander’s castmate Michael Weatherly broke down what went wrong and how viewers could’ve spotted Kate’s death. He talked about a key scene that may have accidentally spoiled the surprise before it happened. Let’s dive deeper!

NCIS fans, it’s time to let go — Sasha Alexander isn’t coming back, and she’s perfectly cool with it. Her two-year stint as Caitlin Todd might’ve been brief, but it packed a punch, leaving fans wishing for more. Still, Alexander’s clearly moved on, and there’s no looking back. While her exit shook stuff up back in the day, it seems like she’s happily left the crime-solving and Gibbs’ rules behind for good.

Kate's NCIS Death Scene Has A Dinozzo Mistake, Michael Weatherly Reveals
Image
Kate Todd's murder scene in NCIS is one of the best character exits in the franchise, but Michael Weatherly reveals that he made a mistake while filming the scene. Apparently, Dinozzo flinched a split second early before Kate was hit by the bullet on her forehead that killed her. Weatherly was a bit too ready for the blood pack to burst and splatter him.

NCIS season 2's finale featured Kate Todd's death scene, which apparently included a mistake by Michael Weatherly. As part of Leroy Jethro Gibbs' original NCIS team, the arrival of Sasha Alexander's Kate kicked off the events of the long-running CBS procedural. Her character was an immediate standout, so losing her after just two seasons was a massive shock, especially considering the way she was written out. Instead of simply leaving the Major Case Response Team (McRt), Kate was murdered in the NCIS season 2 finale.

A couple in the park to cut down a Christmas tree, find a Db in his underwear in the snow. Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) father, Jackson (Ralph Waite) turns up unexpectedly early. Gibbs asks whose fault it really is for him not being here sooner. As in years ago. Gibbs doesn't have cable and only a black and white TV, also he got rid of the guestroom too. He still has Kelly's bike. Gibbs is surprised he actually came. He needs curtains on his window, loved the snow effect. Tony (Michael Weatherly) "Man up chilly willy," he says to McGee (Sean Murray) and should embrace his inner "McGrizzly Adams." Ziva (Cote de Pablo) isn't cold and Tony refers to her as a "frigid ice queen" and she's cold blooded like a lady Komodo dragon. Ziva is wearing thermals. Good to know. Tony will give her $50 for them, well they won't fit...
