Jennie Snyder Urman Revisits ‘Danni Lowinski’ Format, Reunites With Andrea Navedo For 2 Projects Set At CBS
Image
Exclusive: CBS has put in development two dramas executive produced by Jane the Virgin developer/showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman via her Sutton St. Productions – Danni Delgado, an adaptation of the 2010 German series Danni Lowinski with a Latina lead, from writer Nicki Renna (Charmed), Tariq Jalil’s Intrigue Entertainment and Red Arrow Studios International; and The System from writer Elaine Del Valle (Brownsville Bred), with Jane the Virgin alumna Andrea Navedo executive producing and potentially starring and Arika Mittman (Paradise Lost) also executive producing. CBS Studios, where Urman is under an overall deal, is the studio for both projects, with Urman and Joanna Klein executive producing via Sutton St.

Amanda Walsh Cast As Title Character In CW Pilot 'Danni Lowinski'
Exclusive: The CW have found their Danni Lowinski. Sons & Daughters alumna Amanda Walsh has landed the lead in the hourlong CW dramedy pilot based on the German series of the same name. The CW has no scripted series on tap for midseason and recently opted not order back episodes from sophomore Life Unexpected. Danni Lowinski is named after the series' central character: a scrappy hairdresser (Walsh) who has worked her way through law school and finally graduates only to be brushed off by law firms that aren't interested in her type. Determined to make her way in the professional world, she sets up her own practice in a shopping mall kiosk. The German series, which airs on Sat.1, stars popular German comedy actress Annette Frier in the title role. Richard Shepard will be directing the CW...

The CW Greenlights Legal Dramedy Pilot For Midseason Based On German Format
Exclusive: The CW is finalizing a deal to pick up Danni Lowinski, an hourlong dramedy pilot based on the German series of the same name.  Jennie Snyder Urman (90210) has been enlisted to write the adaptation, which is being produced by CBS TV Studios. While the script is yet to be written, the project is being fast-tracked for midseason consideration with a pilot order based on extensive source material - 13 produced episodes of the original series - and a writer whom the CW has an established relationship with. Feelers have already been sent out to talent agencies for the lead whose casting is considered key to the project. Update: Richard Shepard, who won an Emmy for directing another dramedy pilot, that for ABC's Ugly Betty, is in talks to direct. Danni Lowinski is named after the series' central character: a scrappy hairdresser who has worked her way through law school and...
