It's been many, many years since we last heard of the Akira live-action adaptation, and fans felt like it was dead in the water again. However, during a recent interview, the movie's producer Andrew Lazar provided an unexpected update on the movie and even teased when fans should keep their eyes peeled for the next piece of news.
The comment came during a sit-down with Moovy TV, in which the producer was promoting Prime Video's new movie G20. When casually asked about Akira, Lazar stated that at the moment there isn't anything to say but provided a huge hint that suggests the project is very much alive. He stated:
"There's no update, but I expect we'll have one in the next couple of months. So I think you can expect an update in the next couple of months."
Considering how long the project has been in radio silence, fans will...

Isekai is a genre of anime known for transporting its heroes into another world. Sometimes this world comes from a book. Othertimes, it's a parallel dimension, like the Digital World in Digimon. Othertimes, it's a different time period despite being from the same world. The heroes have to adjust to a new world unlike the one they're used to, often facing superhuman challenges along the way.
These challenges can often include villainous characters. These characters are destined for evil and may challenge the heroes, but sometimes they're the protagonists the anime focuses on instead. These ten villains in particular steal the spotlight and make a name for themselves in their respective anime.

Most anime fans love a good shonen anime, as fans generally know what they're getting into. Tournaments, cool fight scenes, occasionally the power of friendship as a power-up. That said, creators aren't afraid to shake things up with their series to avoid things becoming overly predictable.
Often happening early on in a series, shonen series will often have an arc that redefines the entire series. These arcs often feature tone changes, stylistic changes to the art, and sometimes even a shift to the way battles are fought within the series. After these arcs, a show is usually never the same, which is why they're often so beloved by fans. Offering both massive character changes and tons of plot development, its easy to see how these arcs become unforgettable.

Digimon has been releasing anime and movies since 1999 with a variety of standalone and interconnected storylines. Each new installment introduces powerful Digital Monsters and unique storytelling approaches, catering to different age groups. Despite various formats and narratives, Digimon's success as a multimedia franchise is evident through its evolving characters and themes.
Digimon, much like its most notable contemporary, Pokmon, started as a gaming franchise before spinning off into other forms of media, most notably an animated adaptation. While both series have children as their target audience, Digimon is known to have more instances of trying to appeal to an older audience through its themes and imagery, and it's also notable for having a new cast and story with every new installment.

Dubbing in anime is often downright awful, but certain old anime dubs have held up over the years by remaining iconic and well-made. Some anime series aren't quite as fortunate to have received such dedicated performances. However, many have stood the test of time as some of the most rewatchable series thanks to the excellent performances their English-language voice actors delivered.
Other anime dubs, such as Dragon Ball Z, rely more on nostalgia. While the series is a beloved classic and the core story is excellent, the English dub hasn't aged particularly well, making it difficult for new fans to get into. However, many of those same voice actors have returned for Dragon Ball Z Kai with sharper dialogue and improved performances, which has helped the franchise immensely.

Earlier this year Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna was going to be released for a one night screening in the United States on March 25th. The film had already come out in Japanese theaters and American fans were excited to experience what is set to be the final adventure in the original Digimon continuity.
That sadly didn’t happen thanks to the coronavirus pandemic but now American fans will finally get a chance to see the film when it’s released to home media (Blu-ray/DVD) on July 7, 2020 thanks to Shout! Factory and Toei Animation. The film will not only include the original film in Japanese with English subtitles but also an English dub featuring original Digimon dub voice actor Joshua Seth reprising his role as Tai. “Half man, half plant. A goblin’s favorite food!”
Troll 2 plays this weekend (June 24th and 25th) at The Tivoli at midnight as part of their Reel Late at the Tivoli midnight series.
Finally, a movie so bad, it has its own separate documentary about just how bad it is! Troll 2 is one of the most unbelievable sequels ever made, and one supposedly shot entirely without the knowledge or consent of the creators of the first Troll film!
At first glance Troll 2 is simply a sub-z-grade continuity abomination, but really it’s a nonstop explosion of genius disguised as ineptitude. Grade-schooler Joshua is visited by the protective ghost of his Grandpa Seth, who warns him that his family’s vacation destination – the town of Nilbog (!) may be worth avoiding. But there’s no changing dad’s mind, and soon the whole family is knee-deep in black magic and nefarious villagers,...

Digimon: The Movie should have run off with all the Oscars upon its release in 2000. No, seriously.
The year was 2000. Gladiator won Best Picture and Russell Crowe took home Best Actor. The first X-Men movie was released, which many point to as the genesis of modern superhero films. It was the year of Cast Away, Mission Impossible II, Meet the Parents, Charlie’s Angels, O Brother, Where Art Thou? and more. However, one film was released that year that changed the face of what cinema could be.
It was bold. Innovative. A comedy. A drama. A thrilling action adventure that was criminally snubbed for every award possible but to this day is a modern classic.
That film?
Digimon: The Movie.
I am here to finally give this movie its long overdue appreciation. It’s truly a work of art that should be studied in film programs across the country.

30. Sense and Sensibility
Directed by: Ang Lee
Ang Lee has gone in about eight different directions in terms of genre. His resume includes “The Ice Storm,” “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,” Hulk,” “Brokeback Mountain,” “Life of Pi,” and this delightful Jane Austen adaptation, starring Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Alan Rickman, and young Kate Winslet. “Sense and Sensibility” took home the Oscar for Adapted Screenplay for the story of the Dashwood family, a mother widowed and left in difficult circumstances after her husband has left his fortune to his first wife, instead of his current one. So Mrs. Dashwood (Gemma Jones) and her daughters Fanny, Marianne, and Elinor (Harriet Walter, Winslet, Thompson) have to find a way to survive in a world ruled by men and the rules that seem to create obstacle after obstacle for them. Unfortunately, given the era, they are viewed as “unmarryable,” since they have no fortune and no prospects.

Sunday's 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards are just days away, so TooFab enlisted celebrity and editorial stylist Joshua Seth (below, left) to predict the fashion trends that will predominate the red carpet. Seth, who's styled Jasmine V, Angela Lindvall, Brit Morgan and Shay Mitchell , tells TooFab to expect a definite change this year. "The fashions over the past few years at the Golden Globes have been very subdued. We saw a lot of neutrals, blacks, and earth tones. This year, however, the flowers are in bloom! We can expect brights to shower the carpet." Adds Seth, who's blogged for Gap , "As well as strong tones, we can expect to see asymmetrical necklines, a little bit of flash with sequins and metalics, strapless dresses. Long sleeves were also all over the runways of Europe this season, so we can expect to see that on the carpet as well. We can also...
