Warner Bros Discovery Lands Gisele Pelicot Doc

Warner Bros Discovery (Wbd) has struck a major agreement for ITN Productions’ fast turnaround doc The Pelicot Rape Case: A Town on Trial. In a competitive situation, Wbd landed rights to the 90-minute film, which was for the 5 network in the UK, for 90 countries across Europe and Africa in a deal with distributor Orange Smarty. The doc includes an on-camera interview with one of the alleged rapists of Gisele Pelicot, the French woman whose husband, Dominique Pelicot, was jailed for multiple counts of drugging and raping her over a nine-year period. Numerous men from Avignon, where the Pelicots lived, were convicted of sex crimes committed while Gisele Pelicot was drugged and unconscious. The doc was part of Orange Smarty’s London TV Screenings slate last month, along with South Shore Productions’ two-part documentary Eat Smart: Secrets of the Glucose Goddess, which has sold to Sbs in Australia,...

Stand by Me is a coming-of-age drama film directed by Rob Reiner from a screenplay co-written by Bruce A. Evans and Raynold Gideon. Based on the 1982 novella The Body by Stephen King, the 1986 film follows four friends who decide to go hiking to find the dead body of a local teenager who was hit by a train. Stand by Me stars Will Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, Jerry O’Connell, and Kiefer Sutherland.

Series star Kevin Alejandro steps behind the camera to direct CBS’s Fire Country season one episode eight. Written by Tia Napolitano, episode eight will air on Friday, December 9, 2022 at 9pm Et/Pt.

Jon Hamm will be featured as the celebrity guest in the premiere of game show revival “Password,” NBC has announced.

Based on the original show, which ran from 1961 to 1975 (and has been revived in several forms since then), “Password” pits two teams compete against each other as they solve word puzzles using one-word clues. The team that solves for the password ultimately takes home 25,000. Each team consists of a contestant and a celebrity player, with executive producer Jimmy Fallon leading one team and a rotating guest leading the other. The series premiere will see Fallon compete against Hamm in an episode dedicated to Betty White, a frequent player on the original “Password” and the wife of the show’s original host Allen Ludden.

While they haven't released an official airdate for Ruby, the first film in the V.C. Andrews' Landry Family series, it has been revealed that the films are currently in production.

The good news is that we can anticipate the films airing in 2021.

As per usual, for the franchise, the Landry Family series is jam-packed with a star-studded cast of talented and familiar faces.

Twins Raechelle Banno from Pandora and Karina Banno from The Letdown will play Ruby and her mysterious twin.

The film will also star Naomi Judd, Crystal Fox, Gil Bellows, and Deborah Cox.
