    • James Frawley was born on September 29, 1936 in Houston, Texas, USA. He was a director and producer, known for Les Muppets : Ça c'est du cinéma ! (1979), Le bus en folie (1976) and The Monkees (1965). He was married to Cynthia Margaret. He died on January 22, 2019 in Indian Wells, California, USA.

  • Contrary to some stories, James Frawley was not the son of actor William Frawley, who played Fred Mertz on I Love Lucy (1951).
  • He has directed one film that has been selected for the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant: Les Muppets : Ça c'est du cinéma ! (1979).
  • Began as an actor. Made his Broadway debut in 1960 with Laurence Olivier and Anthony Quinn in the Tony-nominated "Becket".
  • Member of the Actors Studio from 1961, trained by Lee Strasberg and Sanford Meisner.
  • Alumnus of the College of Fine Arts (CFA) at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU); School of Drama, class of 1959.
