Exclusive: Vertical Entertainment has swopped on U.S. rights to Open Source, the upcoming action thriller starring Bruce Willis and Jesse Metcalf.

Pic is being directed by Matt Eskandari, from a screenplay by Chris Lamont and Joe Russo. Also starring are Natalia Eva Marie (Inconceivable) and Lala Kent (Trauma Center). Project is in post and Vertical will release theatrically in the fall.

The story follows a billionaire tech CEO (Willis) who hires a team of fearless mercenaries to protect a piece of technology that, if exposed, could destroy the world. Their mission becomes even higher risk when the CEO’s daughter is kidnapped by an extremely dangerous terrorist group who will stop at nothing to obtain the tech.

Producers are Randall Emmett and George Furla at Emmett Furla Oasis Films, who negotiated the U.S. deal with Peter Jarowey and Rich Goldberg at Vertical. Highland Film Group is handling international sales at Efm.

One Tree Hill alum Chad Michael Murray, Shea Buckner, Tyler Olson, Lydia Hull, and Jessica Abrams are set to co-star opposite Bruce Willis in The Long Night, an action thriller from Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films.

Directed by Matt Eskandari, the pic follows two ruthless criminals who break into a disgraced doctor’s home to be given medical attention after one of them is shot during a robbery gone wrong. Knowing that he lacks the expertise to patch up the injured trespasser, the doctor must protect his family at all costs.

Doug Wolfe penned the screenplay and production is currently underway. Randall Emmett and George Furla are producing with Tim Sullivan, Alex Eckert, and Ted Fox serving as executive producers.

Murray, who recurred on the latest seasons of CW’s Riverdale and Fox’s Star, is repped by Innovative Artists and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

Exclusive: Bruce Willis is set to star in Matt Eskandari’s action thriller The Long Night for Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films.

The pic marks the 16th collaboration between Willis and producers Randall Emmett and George Furla. It’s also the second feature between the Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films CEOs and co-founders and Eskandari following Trauma Center, which also stars Willis and is in post.

Exclusive: MoviePass Films has greenlit the horror title The Reckoning which Neil Marshall will helm. Marshall co-wrote the script alongside Edward Evers-Swindell and Charlotte Kirk, the latter who will star in The Reckoning and serve as Ep. Production will begin on Jan. 15 in Wales.

A female-driven story, The Reckoning is set around the witch hunts and the great plague in England in 1665 and follows Evelyn Haverstock (Kirk), a young widow, haunted by the recent suicide of her husband Joseph, who is falsely accused of being a witch by her jealous Landlord, Squire Pendleton, after she rejects his unwanted advances.

Marshall has been behind such horror pics as Dog Soldiers and The Descent which brought in more than $60 million combined at the global box office. He is also behind Lionsgate’s Hellboy which opens on April 12 next year. Marshall has also directed episodes of Game of Thrones, Westworld, Netflix’s Lost in Space and more.

Olivia Wilde’s “A Vigilante” has sold to Saban Films, along with DirecTV, at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Sarah Daggar-Nickson wrote and directed the crime drama. “A Vigilante” follows a once abused woman, Sadie (Wilde), who devotes herself to ridding victims of their domestic abusers. Morgan Spector, Kyle Catlett, C.J. Wilson, Tonye Patano, Chuck Cooper, Betsy Aidem, Judy Marte also star.

The film first premiered at the SXSW Film Festival in March, and was nominated for a SXSW Gamechanger Award.

He must put the pieces of his broken memory together in order to find out who sabotaged the job and took the money, all while being pursued by a powerful crime boss hellbent on recovering the cash.

Exclusive: MoviePass Films CEOs and Co-Founders Randall Emmett, George Furla, and Ted Farnsworth have set Bruce Willis to star in 10 Minutes Gone, the first production start since MoviePass parent company Helios & Matheson Analytics acquired Emmett Furla Oasis Films to launch MoviePass Films as a subsidiary to its struggling ticket sales business.

Brian A. Miller will direct a script from Kelvin Mao and Jeff Jingle. Also starring is Meadow Williams who recently completed filming on Boss Level, opposite Mel Gibson and Naomi Watts, and After. It marks the fourth collaboration between Emmett, Furla, and Williams.

Swen Temmel, Sergio Rizzuto and Tyler Jon Olson round out the cast with more coming for a September 10 start date in Ohio. This will mark the third project for MoviePass Films after the mobster drama Gotti starring John Travolta and sorority thriller The Row starring Randy Couture and Lala Kent.

While there is still no release date in place for Escape Plan 2, production has already commenced on Escape Plan 3, with Sylvester Stallone sending out the first video from the set. With production set to wrap this week on Escape Plan 2, producers Randall Emmett and George Furla are wasting no time in continuing this franchise. The producers' Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films company has just given the green light for Escape Plan 3, which will bring back Sylvester Stallone as Ray Breslin. Escape Plan 2 director Steven C. Miller is also being brought back to take the helm of Escape Plan 3, with Escape Plan and Escape Plan 2 writer Miles Chapman also being brought back to write the screenplay.

Deadline reports that Randall Emmett and George Furla will produce through Emmett/Furla/Oasis, alongside Mark Canton and Zack Schiller. Vancouver-based Insight Film Studios Ltd. has signed a $75 million production and distribution deal with Los Angeles' Picture Perfect Entertainment and Ted Fox Entertainment, it was announced Tuesday. Insight will jointly produce and finance six pictures annually over the next three years that Picture Perfect and Ted Fox Entertainment will distribute globally. The agreement was arranged by Insight CEO Kirk Shaw, Picture Perfect principal Rich Styles and Ted Fox. All projects will be shot in Vancouver, according to Insight senior vp creative affairs Rob Word. The budgets will be in the $2 million-$5 million range, and at least one of each year's films is expected to receive theatrical distribution.
