News of Mason’s casting follows Variety’s exclusive that “Saturday Night Live” star Marcello Hernandez is playing the groom’s best man and official bachelor party captain.

The Netflix movie stars Hart as a 40-something executive who joins a group of 20-somethings for a wild bachelor party in Miami after he inadvertently got added to their group text.

“72 Hours” is being directed by Tim Story. This marks the fifth collaboration for Hart and Story, who previously made “Think Like a Man” and the “Ride Along” series. Each of their previous outings led the box office at opening and have collectively earned a global haul of $445 million.

It's going to be a one-season run for Laid, the romantic comedy series on Peacock. Despite having a strong cast with nearly unanimous praise from critics, the show won't be getting another season on the NBCUniversal platform.

Per Deadline, Laid has officially been canceled by Peacock after one season. The show premiered on the streaming platform on Dec. 19 with all eight episodes made available to watch simultaneously. Its response was stellar, as the show holds a score of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. However, the show did not become a major streaming hit, as it didn't crack Nielsen's top 10 list, nor did it create substantial buzz on social media. It's not yet known if the show will be shopped around to other streaming platforms for a potential rescue.

“Magnum P.I.” is coming to a close at NBC. The drama series, which was canceled by CBS last year before NBC picked it up, will not continue past the upcoming second part of Season 5.

The decision not to order a sixth season comes past the 50-day mark of the WGA strike and a potential strike by SAG-AFTRA after the actors union’s contract with the AMPTP expires on June 30. That date coincides with the end of the “Magnum P.I.” cast’s deals at NBC. Therefore, to avoid cancelling the show, NBC would have had to either order more episodes without knowing when they could enter production or extend the actors’ deals to prolong the decision-making period. Ultimately, opted to release the actors and move forward without “Magnum P.I.” on its slate.

Return from Witch Mountain followed in 1978, and then in 1995 Robert Vaughn and Elisabeth Moss starred in a television remake of the 1975 family-friendly film. The Witch Mountain franchise began way back in 1975, kids, with Escape to Witch Mountain, which was followed years later by Return to Witch Mountain and then Beyond Witch Mountain. In 1995, the original film was remade for TV as Disney’s Escape to Witch Mountain, while 2009 brought us Race to Witch Mountain, a theatrical redo of, well, Escape to Witch Mountain.

NBC has closed a deal to pick up Magnum P.I., saving the action-drama series that CBS canceled in May, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

NBC has ordered two more seasons of Magnum P.I., with each season containing 10 episodes. The additional two seasons follow four from the CBS Studios/Universal Television production completed at CBS. NBC also has the option for more season of the reboot.

Debuting in 2018, the series stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Amy Hill, and Tim Kang.

The show is a reboot of the popular 1980s series starring Tom Selleck. The update still takes place in Hawaii and stars Hernandez as Thomas Magnum, a former Navy Seal turned private investigator.

The broadcaster has ordered 20 new episodes of “Magnum P.I.,” which an option for more, and intends to break those up into Seasons 5 and 6 of the series, Variety has learned.

The reboot of the beloved 1980’s action series debuted Season 4 back in October on CBS. The show is described as a modern take on the original series centering on Thomas Magnum (Jay Hernandez), a decorated former Navy Seal who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator.

I hear the 20 episodes will be split into two seasons, bringing the reboot’s run to 96 episodes, with an option for more.

In anticipation of the deal closing, CBS Studios, which co-produces the series with Universal TV, did not extend the options on the cast which expire at the end of day today, June 30, ahead of time, so the final stage of the negotiations stretched into the night tonight. With an agreement on the order reached, the cast is now being picked up and finalizing deals to return for the new seasons.

Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Tim Kang and Amy Hill star alongside Hernandez in the series.

Series star James Spader revealed news of the renewal during his appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday evening. Other guests for the evening’s broadcast included Olympic athlete Nathan Chen, standup comedian Eric Neumann and Dr. Bernice A. King.

“The Blacklist” is currently in the middle of broadcasting its ninth season. The season premiered in October and new episodes air at 8 p.m. on Fridays. The long-running series has continued to draw large numbers, reaching 22 million viewers across liner and digital platforms and growing over 200% from its live + same day average.

Spader has starred in “The Blacklist” since the series first premiered in 2013. The “Sex, Lies, and Videotape” actor plays FBI fugitive and super criminal Raymond “Red” Reddington, who helps the bureau track down the most notorious criminals across the globe.

The Blacklist has been handed an early renewal. NBC has picked up the crime drama for Season 10 while Season 9 is still on the air.

Star/executive producer James Spader is set to return for the 10th season, which will be the second following the departure of both its female lead Megan Boone, who exited at the end of Season 8, and its creator Jon Bokenkamp. Also back for Season 10 as executive producer/showrunner is John Eisendrath, who has been on the series from the start, co-showrunning with Bokenkamp for the first eight seasons and serving as sole showrunner since the start of Season 9.

I hear the pickup had been in the works for awhile. Standard broadcast series’ cast contracts are for six years. While I hear The Blacklist star James Spader had renegotiated his deal early on, adding an extra year, the rest of the show’s original cast members’ contracts were up at the end of the current sixth season. I hear over the past several months, Sony TV inked new pacts with co-lead Megan Boone and the other two original series regular cast members Diego Klatenhoff and Harry Lennix. Securing the core cast paved the way to a Season 7 renewal.

Disney is to try and strike Pirates Of The Caribbean-style gold with a new movie based on the Jungle Cruise Disneyland ride.

The upcoming slate of Dwayne Johnson was already looking just a little crowded. Now it turns out that he's adding another film to it as well, this time based on a Disneyland theme park ride.

The ride in question is Jungle Cruise, and Disney has hired John Requa and Glenn Ficarra - Focus, Crazy Stupid Love - to write a screenplay for the movie (it's not clear at this stage whether they'll be directing as well). The movie will reportedly be a period piece along the lines of The African Queen, the 1951 Humphrey Bogart/Katharine Hepburn-headlined classic. Turns out that film was one of the inspirations for the ride.

John Davis and John Fox are to produce the movie, Although where it fits into Johnson's slate remains to be seen.
