Chris Evans Was Perfectly Cast As Casey Jones In This 17-Year-Old Tmnt Movie That Never Got A Sequel
Although Tmnt is one of the more forgotten Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle adaptations, it features a perfectly cast Chris Evans as Casey Jones, which makes it worth a watch. Released in 2007, Tmnt follows the turtles shortly after the defeat of the Shredder, the main antagonist to the turtles in the franchise. In the animated movie, Chris Evans voices Casey Jones, April's boyfriend and an ally to the turtles.
Even though Tmnt never got the sequel it deserved, it is a great standalone movie that features aspects of previous Tmnt adaptations. Evans' Casey Jones, in particular, is heavily inspired by the Casey voiced by Marc Thompson in the 2003 animated series and Pat Fraley in the 1987 Tmnt movie. Chris Evans' history in the superhero genre especially adds to the significance of his casting in the 2007 version.

X-Men 97, the recent reboot of the original X-Men: The Animated Series, has been an unmitigated success. Its first season has reminded fans of the unimpeachable quality of Marvels bygone Saturday morning cartoon era and hopefully showed Marvel that people still love the X-Men. But theres more gold buried in the treasure troves of Marvel animation.
Because of the sheer number of Marvel's animated shows, it can be hard to know which ones are worth watching. However, for every smash hit like X-Men '97, there are plenty more underrated Marvel shows, some of which are still largely unknown by modern audiences.

Any number of factors may influence a viewer's feelings towards a character, whether due to their actions and motivations or their overall role in the story. In fact, it can be argued that audiences are supposed to hate or at least love to hate certain characters. There are countless live-action examples of this recurring narrative motif, including Joffrey Baratheon in Game of Thrones and Homelander in The Boys.
Cartoons, on the other hand, are an entirely different ball game. Not only are they designed for kids and, therefore, immune to rationalization, but they're also not meant to be taken seriously. And yet, there are so many cartoon characters that can only be described as objectionable. Some of them are that way by design, especially when applied to humorous effect. All of them, however, can be expected to raise the audience's hackles whenever they appear onscreen.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem released in 2023 and featured a teenage version of the turtle heroes and an underground world of mutants. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have a rich history, from their comic book origins to their numerous TV series and movies spanning over 35 years. The franchise includes classic adaptations like the 1990 live-action film and the popular 2003 animated series, as well as newer takes such as the 2014 and 2016 live-action movies and the 2018 animated series, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
While the franchise is somewhat lacking when it comes to having a cohesive continuity, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies in order show how the world's favorite heroes in a half-shell have continually adapted themselves to stay relevant throughout the decades. From the pages of comic books to the big screen, Earth's favorite crime-fighting anthropomorphic turtles love only one thing more than ridding the world of scum: pizza.

The original live-action Ghost Busters featured a bumbling trio of detectives fighting paranormal creatures with a ghost de-materializer. The 1986 animated version, Ghostbusters, was a sequel with new characters battling a ghost wizard named Prime Evil. Filmation's Ghostbusters faced challenges against Columbia Pictures' version, leading to quick cancellation and regrets from the executive producer.
Do you remember The Ghost Busters show? The live-action children’s sitcom ran on CBS for one season during the mid-1970s and centered around three slapstick paranormal detectives — Jake Kong, Eddie Spencer, and Tracy. The last name was actually a gorilla with a trademark beanie propeller hat. This bumbling trio would retrieve their weekly assignment from a cassette tape that was hidden inside a department store.
Never seen but only heard, their boss Zero would usually have them fight against the likes of Frankenstein, The Mummy, Dracula, or even the ghost of Billy the Kid. With...

A highly detailed cosplay of Krang, the iconic villain from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, stays faithful to the villain's classic design while adding realistic technical details. Krang has appeared in various adaptations of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, including animated series and feature films, and has evolved and been reimagined over the years, becoming one of the franchise's most notable antagonists. The ending of the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, Mutant Mayhem suggests that Krang may return in future installments, with connections to the Techno Cosmic Research Institute teased.
The alien Krang and its enormous android body are transported straight from Dimension X in this detailed, animated-series-inspired Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cosplay. Voiced by Pat Fraley, the classic villain of the four pizza-loving, sewer-dwelling mutated warriors made its debut in the 1987 adaptation of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird's celebrated comic series as an alien military leader banished to Earth.

"The Transformers: The Movie" exists in the shadow of "Star Wars." The young Autobot Hot Rod's ascension to Rodimus Prime parallels Luke Skywalker becoming a Jedi, Arcee's head is modeled after Leia's bun hairstyle, and the film's Orson Welles-voiced villain, Unicron, is a mechanical planet that eats other planets — it's like the Death Star, but if it were a Transformer.
"Star Wars" didn't become the media franchise of the world because of its box office haul, but largely because of merchandise sales. Toy companies made a killing on "Star Wars" action figures, among them Hasbro, owner of "Transformers." Partly thanks to "Star Wars," movies and TV shows began to be designed to include characters and vehicles that could be turned into toys. "The Transformers" and its sister show, "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero," were the epitome of this -- they were literal toy commercials disguised as cartoons,...

Tim Allen and Chris Evans aren’t the only actors who have voiced the character Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story franchise. Tim Allen is commonly known as the original and main voice for Buzz Lightyear, the "Space Ranger" toy from Pixar's Toy Story and its many sequels and spin-offs. In the original movie from 1995, Allen's Buzz brings a new dynamic to the ensemble of characters and often serves as co-leader to the toy community in Andy’s bedroom — and later Bonnie’s — throughout the franchise.
When Chris Evans was announced to be voicing Buzz in Lightyear, as the "real" Space Ranger that the action figure was based on, it left fans confused that someone else could be replacing Tim Allen. But Buzz Lightyear has had numerous iterations outside the feature films released on the big screen. And after almost 30 years, there have been many actors beyond Allen and...

The Tick is back on Amazon Prime Video and it's tremendous fun. Here's how the show achieves what its creator envisioned 21 years ago...
In 1994, I was about to be a freshman in high school. Despite being “too old” for cartoons, there wasn’t really anything else on television on Saturday mornings while I was waiting for wrestling to show up on my television screen. I remember most of the cartoons I saw only in the vaguest terms: the creepy face of Louie Anderson’s gargoyle animated child or a screaming purple cat. I know the name of both shows because I looked them up prior to writing this article, but I couldn’t tell you anything about them. However, one show I watched regularly in the mid to late '90s stuck with me well into adulthood, and that’s the 1994-96 animated version of The Tick.

Twenty years ago, Pixar, Tom Hanks, and Tim Allen brought Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and the world of “Toy Story” to life. Since then, Pixar Animation Studios has spawned some of the film industry’s most memorable voice actor work of all time. Much of that work is in no small part thanks to behind-the-scenes leaders like casting director Kevin Reher and casting manager Natalie Lyon, both of whom will be honored with the Backstage Vanguard Award for Casting this Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Pacific Design Center during a sit down interview and ceremony moderated by 2014 Backstage Vanguard winner Pat Fraley. The second annual Voice Arts Awards will take place on Sunday, Nov. 15. Expressing gratitude for the Society of Voice Arts and Sciences’ recognition, Reher and Lyon admitted to falling into voiceover casting a bit by happenstance. Reher began in film financing before developing a Pixar voice selects database as the...

A couple days ago, Whoopi was seen exiting from the set of the new live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The very talented entertainer, who has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award, had many people scratching their heads as to whom she might be playing. The only possible clues was that she was wearing a large, crazy-haired wig, and a jumpsuit covered up her character's wardrobe. But today, I was contacted by a source, KrispinWah, who informed me that Whoopi Goldberg ("Ghost") will be playing Bernadette Thompson, an editor at Channel 6 News and more importantly, April O'Neil (Megan Fox) and Vernon Fenwick's (Will Arnett) boss. Right away, fans of the the popular 1987 animated series should be able to recognize that name... sort of. See, in that series, April O'Neil's boss was Burne Thompson (voiced by Pat Fraley & Townsend Coleman). So, for Michael Bay's Tmnt the character will be...
