Suburban Hell: Paul Feig, Sam Raimi team up for possession horror comedy
Image
It’s still not clear when or if Universal Pictures is going to let director Paul Feig (Ghostbusters: Answer the Call) move forward with his Universal Monsters project Dark Army – but instead of just waiting around for that, Feig is teaming up with genre legend Sam Raimi for a horror comedy called Suburban Hell! Feig will be producing the movie through his company Feigco Entertainment while Raimi produces through his company Ghost House.

Based on a novel by Maureen Kilmer, Suburban Hell will tell the story of a tight-knit group of suburban moms whose friendship is put to the ultimate test when one of them becomes possessed by an evil spirit.

The description of Kilmer’s novel (pick up a copy Here) provides some more information: Amy Foster considers herself lucky. After she left the city and moved to the suburbs, she found her place quickly with neighbors Liz, Jess,...

‘Suburban Hell’ – Sam Raimi and Paul Feig Joining Forces for Demonic Possession Horror Movie
Image
Author Maureen Kilmer‘s novel Suburban Hell is getting a feature film adaptation from Legendary Entertainment, Feigco Entertainment and Ghost House, Deadline reports.

Paul Feig and Laura Fischer of Feigco Entertainment will produce alongside Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert of Ghost House. Romel Adam and Jose Cañas will oversee for Ghost House.

“The novel tells the story of a tight-knit group of suburban moms whose friendship is put to the ultimate test when one of them becomes possessed by an evil spirit.”

Kilmer’s Suburban Hell was just published last year.

Here’s the full synopsis for the novel…

“Amy Foster considers herself lucky. After she left the city and moved to the suburbs, she found her place quickly with neighbors Liz, Jess, and Melissa, snarking together from the outskirts of the PTA crowd. One night during their monthly wine get-together, the crew concoct a plan for a clubhouse She...

Soleil Moon Frye: 'I Don't Know Where Punky Brewster Ends and I Begin'
Image
Some actors spend their whole lives trying to separate themselves from the roles that made them famous. But Soleil Moon Frye doesn’t roll like that.

Frye was eight years old when her titular sunny role as Punky Brewster turned her into the pig-tailed playmate kids loved having around in the ’80s. Now that she’s all grown up with kids of her own, Frye says the Peacock revival has allowed her to tap into a wave of nostalgia she likely shares with fans.

Punky Brewster's Margaux Is Back for Peacock Revival: See First Photo
Image
Margaux’s catchphrase “peasants!” never quite took off on Punky Brewster, but that didn’t stop her from being a part of the title character’s ragtag gang of pals. And now fans of the original will be happy to learn — via the exclusive Season 1 sneak peek photo above — that Ami Foster will reprise her role as Margaux in a guest-starring turn.

All grown up like her good friends Punky (star Soleil Moon Frye) and Cherie (Cherie Johnson), Margaux is now a high-powered owner of a PR firm in the sitcom’s 10-episode revival, which premieres Thursday, Feb. 25, on Peacock.

Melissa McCarthy in The Boss (2016)
Get Ready for The Boss by Celebrating That Other Girl Scout Classic Troop Beverly Hills
Melissa McCarthy in The Boss (2016)
Melissa McCarthy's new comedy, The Boss, arrives in theaters on Friday. Given McCarthy's string of box office successes, the movie seems primed to be a hit. And we're stoked too, but the premise of the film has us recalling another female-led comedy: The 1989 Shelley Long cult hit Troop Beverly Hills. Both films focus on women of means who enjoy living the high life but who have also been humbled in some way - The Boss's Michelle Darnell being sent to prison, and Troop's Phyllis Nefler facing an impending divorce. And both protagonists turn to the Girl Scouts (or...

WWE: Weddings, wrestling and engagements
World Wrestling Entertainment may be more synonymous with punches, kicks and ruthless body slamming, but it has also managed, for one night only, to take on the unlikely role of Cupid.

As Amy Foster decided to host a wrestling themed party to try to win a competition, she had no idea the best knockout blow of the night would actually come from her boyfriend Joe McGregor, who got down on one knee to perform the deadly ‘proposal’ move. Loved-up Joe was dressed as wrestling star John Cena as he popped the question to his understandably surprised girlfriend of eight years Amy, who was wearing an Aj Lee costume. Civil servant Amy, 28, of Sheffield said: “In the world of wrestling, Aj proposed to several people over the last few months including Cena.

“So I thought it would be funny if we dressed up as a wrestling couple – little did I know...

Doggie Woggiez, Poochie Woochiez (2012)
Doggie Woggiez, Poochie Woochiez

Directed by Commodore Gilgamesh and Ghoul Skool

Doggie Woggiez, Poochie Woochiez is not a film; it is an experience unlike any other.

Other filmmakers have only hinted at what Doggie Woggiez, Poochie Woochiez is; Damon Packard, with Reflections of Evil comes close, but the people at Everything Is Terrible take it further than Packard could ever have dreamed. Packard still uses his own footage when he edits; these guys don’t film a thing. They take forgotten VHS tapes and edit out the worst/best parts of them into separate videos. And it’s genius, which is why they’re still doing it.

Doggie Woggiez, Poochie Woochiez is their third feature-length endeavor (the first two are kind of-movies, mostly their shorts strung together) and it’s absolutely unfathomable how anyone has the patience that these people have. There are literally thousands of cuts between different videos,...

Punky Brewster: Actress Soleil Moon Frye Resurrects Her Iconic Character
If you grew up in the 1980s, the mere mention of Punky Brewster brings back very distinct memories of childhood days in front of the boob-tube. Love or hate the show, it's an indelible part of that decade. While there's little chance that we'll ever see a Punky Brewster reunion, actress Soleil Moon Frye recently revived her character for a special visit.

Punky Brewster revolves around a precocious little girl who has been abandoned by her mother in Chicago. With only her faithful dog Brandon as a companion, Punky starts living in a vacant apartment in an old building. There, she meets the grumpy landlord, photographer Henry Warnimont (George Gaynes). The two quickly bond and Henry becomes her foster parent and later adopts her. Others in the series include Susie Garrett, Cherie Johnson, T. K. Carter, Ami Foster, and Casey Ellison.

While the concept...
