He worked as a journalist between 1950 until 1960.

He created some of the most popular and longest-running soap operas of Greek television. He is credited with popularizing the genre in the 1990s.

Several of his films and television series depicted the characters speaking in rather pompous proclamations and monologues. Foskolos' pompous style of writing was often parodied in comedy plays and television series.
