Prolific Viennese leading actor, on stage from the age of six. Trained at the theatre school of the Vienna Burgthater (1897-99). Ensemble member of the Residenztheater (1900-11). One of the first actors to play Sherlock Holmes on screen in a series of films made by the Kowo-Film AG, 1917 to 1918. During the 1930's, chiefly employed in character roles.

The actor Hugo Flink belonged to the pioneers of actors of the German silent movie industry.

Like other actors too, who had already had a successful career at the theater, it was no problem for Hugo Flink to work for the up-coming talkies.
