    • Lester Flatt was born on June 19, 1914 in Overton County, Tennessee, USA. He was an actor and composer, known for The Last Show (2006), Sacré sale gosse (1991) and Finding North (1998). He was married to Gladys Flatt. He died on May 11, 1979 in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.

  • As a member of Flatt & Scruggs, elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1985.
  • Country and western musician who formed the Foggy Mountain Boys with Earl Scruggs.
  • After the breakup of Flatt & Scruggs in 1969, Flatt formed the Nashville Grass.
  • Lester's grandfather Jonas H. Flatt (1839-1896) was a private in the 28th Tennessee Infantry (2nd Tennessee Mountain Volunteers) in the Confederate States Army. Jonas' brothers John Madison and William Harrison also served the Confederacy. The unit saw action at Shiloh and Chicamauga.
