Is Elon Musk’s Twitter Kink-Shaming the Kinks?
Image
Elon Musk’s Twitter continues to function about as well as a Tesla in self-driving mode, with Dave Davies and the Kinks bearing the brunt of the platform’s latest hiccups: Last night, Davies complained that Twitter kept placing sensitive content warnings on all of his tweets about the Kinks, ostensibly because the band name was being confused with, well, sexual kinks.

“Dear @elonmusk would @Twitter please stop putting warnings on everything from ‘the Kinks,’” Davies wrote. “We are just trying to promote our Kinks music @TheKinks #thekinks60.” Accompanying the...

‘Digging to Death’ Review
Image
Stars: Ford Austin, Tom Fitzpatrick, Rachel Alig, Ken Hudson Campbell, Richard Riehle, Clint Jung, Sumeet Dang, Bryan Dodds, Debbie DeLisi, Stephan Singh | Written and Directed by Michael P.Blevins

Back in the 1990s, when loading up a game, I used to get a little flutter when I saw the Konami logo and heard the little jingle that went with it. I used to assume “I am in for a good time”. The opposite happens now, as I am pushing 40, seeing the Uncork’d Entertainment logo and hear the little clink of glasses. I think. Uh oh… Especially when the title is Digging to Death. It is not even a pun, and it does not make sense.

Digging to Death kicks off with our protagonist, David, and his grown-up daughter Jessica, having purchased a new house. Daddy and daughter are very likeable. They are worried about money, but they manage to bring...

Digging to Death (2021)
"Someone will ask questions..." Uncork'd Ent has released an official trailer for an indie horror-thriller film titled Digging to Death, from writer / director Michael P. Blevins. "This June, dig up the past." David Van Owen moves into a mysterious house and discovers a box buried in his backyard, filled with 3 million dollars and a fresh corpse. What does he decide to do next? David hides the money in the house, only to be stalked by the buried body... Starring Ford Austin, Tom Fitzpatrick, Rachel Alig, Ken Hudson Campbell, Richard Riehle, with Clint Jung, Sumeet Dang, and Bryan Dodds. Yeah, this isn't the most original idea, but that creepy old dead guy haunting him makes this look like something unique and, dare I say, kind of fun. Freaky and disturbing, but with some awkward fun tossed in. Why not? It's the horror genre after all. Here's the official US trailer (+ poster) for Michael P.

Gimme Shelter
The story, Gimme Shelter centers on Agnes “Apple” Bailey played by Vanessa Hudgens. The film is based on the true-life story of a sixteen year old living with her drug addict/prostitute mother June Bailey (Rosario Dawson). Apple grows up never knowing her father, moving from foster home to foster home, in and out of the system, dependent upon a mother that cannot keep it together. She holds onto her one and only letter from her rich, Wall Street father Tom Fitzpatrick (Brendan Fraser). Where he refers to his daughter as the apple of his eye, hence she chooses to be called Apple.

Gimme Shelter begins with the audience hearing Apple talking to herself, stating that she is not afraid, she is not scared. She is mustering up the courage to leave her deadbeat mother and is determined to find a better life. She starts this out with an incredible hacking off of her hair.

Roundtable Interview With Vanessa Hudgens On Gimme Shelter
She became a star thanks to the High School Musical series and then went onto break out of the Disney mold by taking on more serious roles in films like The Frozen Ground and Spring Breakers. However, nothing will prepare you for how far Vanessa Hudgens goes to portray Apple Bailey in Gimme Shelter.

Written and directed by Ronald Krauss, the film follows Apple as she escapes from her abusive mother June (Rosario Dawson) and searches for her father, Tom Fitzpatrick (Brendan Fraser), who is now a Wall Street banker with a family of his own. But when April discovers she is pregnant, she ends up running away from Tom and later finds a place to stay at a shelter for pregnant young women.

Hudgens completely disappears into this role to the point where you can’t even recognize her at all. She gained 15 pounds, cut off most of her hair,...

‘Gimme Shelter’ Review
In Gimme Shelter, Vanessa Hudgens plays Agnes “Apple” Baily, a teenager who’s spent most of her life being passed around (and sometimes abused) by foster caretakers and her drug-addicted mother, June (Rosario Dawson). Apple finally decides to run away from home and contact her biological father – Wall Street broker Tom Fitzpatrick (Brendan Fraser) – in the hope that he will support her long enough for her to land on her own two feet, get a job and start living on her own.

However, when it turns out that Apple is pregnant and Tom disagrees with her decision to keep the baby, the former takes off, eventually getting in an accident and landing in the hospital. There, she meets the kindly Father McCarthy (James Earl Jones), who convinces Apple to ...

Roundtable Interview With Rosario Dawson On Gimme Shelter
Rosario Dawson gives one of her best performances to date as June Bailey in Gimme Shelter. Written and directed by Ronald Krauss, it tells the story of Apple Bailey (played by Vanessa Hudgens), a young girl who runs away from June, her abusive and drug addicted mother, to find her biological father and escape the hellish world she has been growing up in.

Upon finding her father, a Wall Street banker named Tom Fitzpatrick (played by Brendan Fraser), Apple discovers she is pregnant and Tom encourages her to get an abortion. Instead, she runs away, again, and struggles to survive on the streets until she finds her way into a shelter for pregnant young women. Soon, she finds herself bonding with the other girls there. Unfortunately, it’s not long before June comes back into the picture, determined not to let her daughter get away from her ever again.

Rose Byrne in Insidious : Chapitre 2 (2013)
'Insidious: Chapter 2' - insipid scares kill this chapter (Ians Movie Review)
Rose Byrne in Insidious : Chapitre 2 (2013)
Film: "Insidious: Chapter 2"; Cast: Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Ty Simpkins, Lin Shaye, Barbara Hershey, Steve Coulter, Leigh Whannel, Angus Sampson and Tom Fitzpatrick; Director: James Wan; Rating: *1/2

"Insidious: Chapter 2" is a big letdown by the director James Wan, who had previously given us "Insidious" in 2011 and "The Conjuring" in July. While the earlier films were well-crafted, this one is a far cry from the earlier ones.

The narration is a compilation of three paranormal-demonic-possession tales before winding up with an unbelievable climax set in the nether world 'The Further', where evil spirits lurk. It is the journey of Josh (Patrick Wilson), his older son Dalton (Ty Simpkins), and Parker Crane.
