I'm surprised that it's taken five years since David Bowie's passing for someone to attempt the biopic treatment. Stardust wisely shuns the standard birth-career highlights-death formula, instead choosing to focus on a specific incident in Bowie's life: an ill-fated tour of the United States in early 1971, when he was mostly known as a one-hit wonder off the back of Space Oddity. "What follows is (mostly) fiction," we are warned, which seems reasonable for a story of a man who indulged in no small degree of self-mythologising.

It would be unfair to criticise any normal human being for not looking or sounding like David Bowie, but I'm going to do it anyway because Johnny Flynn resembles Geoffrey Rush doing an Eddie Izzard impersonation. It's made all the more jarring by the extraordinary costuming work in the film, with early scenes including a near-perfect replica of the Michael Fish "man's dress" Bowie.

It sounded too crazy to be true. The host of an opening for a Welsh marina in the 1980s was a BBC broadcaster named Michael Fish and all the invited guests were locals with fish names: Salmon, Carp, Bass, Haddock …

Charlie Lyne figured that it probably wasn’t true, but he loved the story anyway. He’d heard it from his friend Caspar Salmon, who said his grandmother had attended the event on the Welsh island of Anglesey.

“I would force him to tell it to anyone I introduced him to,” Lyne said. “It just became incessant, a favorite party trick to get him to reiterate this story — culminating in forcing him to do it for the film.”

Now this is a unique, totally fun short documentary. Fish Story is a short doc produced by The Guardian, telling the tall tale of a event that happened years ago. The story goes that in North Wales, a weatherman named Michael Fish was the host behind an event where people with "fishy" last names (Mrs. Crab, Mr. Salmon, Mrs. Bass, Mr. Mullet) would attend a dinner and be served the fish of their last name. Filmmaker Charlie Lyne attempts to figure out if the story is actually true and reach the people who put it together. Until we invent a time machine, the Rolling Stones‘ new museum exhibition is the closest you’ll get to hanging out with the band at key moments in their history. Featuring 500 items of rare memorabilia, the appropriately titled Exhibitionism is an immersive journey from their very beginnings to the heights of superstardom. Now in its second season, it's not too late to get on board to find out why we're hooked on this on Saturday nights.

We rejoin Charlie and his ragtag crew at the big meeting when the gang are all introduced to each other. It had to be a Doug Hayward moment and thankfully does not disappoint. In actual fact it is probably Michael Caine’s best fitting suit in the whole movie:

Dark blue worsted wool suit; double breasted jacket, wide peaked lapels, 6 on 2 fastening, slanted hip pockets, ticket pocket, high rear vents; white high collar medium spread shirt with double cuffs; narrow leg trousers; white silk necktie.

Odd to wear a white tie out of formal occasion or evening wear, but it works well as part of the ensemble.

We may be on the verge of spring with a heatwave predicted for some of the country this week, but frankly, we're not buying it. We've been burned by Michael Fish and co before, and we know that the only thing you can count on in life is a good, entertaining TV box set.

David Attenborough and Chris Packham have given their backing to a new Christmas single in support of the Badger Trust. At one extreme, there was hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, who lambasted Mayor Bloomberg for making insufficient provision for New York's homeless: "They're fucked, it's terrible." At the other there was Nicole "Coco Marie" Austin, mammiferous wife of rapper Ice-t, who posted an online video of herself in New Jersey, jiggling her surgically enhanced breasts at the incoming storm. Michael Fish has recreated his infamous 1987 weather report. The presenter filmed a remake of the classic forecast in which he originally said that there was not a hurricane on the way, hours before the Great Storm hit 25 years ago. In the new advert for Etta's Seafood Kitchen in Brixton Village, the 68-year-old tells viewers "to stay indoors because we're in for quite a night". Michael Fish has spoken about his infamous 1987 weather report on its 25th anniversary. Tonight (Monday, October 15) marks a quarter of a century since the UK's Great Storm of 1987, where 18 people died after winds hit speeds of up to 115mph. BBC weatherman Fish became a household name for his forecast earlier in the day, telling people not to worry after a woman phoned in claiming there was a "hurricane on the way". The clip's cult status reached even bigger heights earlier this year when it was used during Danny Boyle's London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony. Kate Garraway, Richard Arnold and Debra Stephenson have made it through to the final of Let’s Dance For Sports Relief.

We were shocked when Kate and Richard first performed their Grease inspired hand jive routine on tonight’s show, we’d expected them to be awful. Let’s face it, Kate displayed no natural rhythm or aptitude for dance during Strictly Come Dancing in 2007, so we expected her to be crap tonight. However, she and Richard actually performed really well. They managed to be funny while pulling off a mildly complicated routine and that’s big praise from us, because we normally detest Kate Garraway.

Kate and Richard got the highest amount of public votes and went automatically through to the final, while the judges chose to put Debra Stephenson through above kids TV presenters Sam and Mark. It was a much deserved win as Debra was great tonight...

We can’t wait to watch tonight’s Let’s Dance For Sports Relief second show, last week we laughed so much at Rufus Hound’s Cheryl Cole impression that we almost had a toilet related accident!

Tonight’s show promises to be just as good and we are particularly looking forward to a performance by one of our favourite female comedians Shappi Khorsandi.

Spike Jonze may be busy putting the finishing touches on Where The Wild Things Are but he's found time to nip out of the post-production studio to pick up the rights to novel Light Boxes.Light Boxes, the debut novel by New York writer Shane Jones, has a quirky, surreal, Jonze-ian feel: it's set in a town beseiged by a malevolent godlike being called February, which, like its calendar namesake, pitches the place into perpetual winter, and has as its protagonist a balloonist called Thaddeus. Think Alice In Wonderland meets The Road with a script draft by Michael Fish.Light Boxes sees Jonze returns to bean-counting duties as producer, with Ray Tintori (Death To The Tinman) directing.
