George Fisher was a Hollywood gossip columnist and radio broadcaster who worked for the "Los Angeles Evening News" (later the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner") and multiple radio stations in the southern California region. He also was a columnist for the popular movie magazines "Modern Screen" and "Radio Mirror".

Fisher started his career as a radio announcer at the age of 18, broadcasting stories carried by the "San Francisco Examiner", where he had started work as a 15-year-old copy boy. He continued as a radio broadcaster for 33 years.
