    • Syd Field was born on December 19, 1935 in Hollywood, California, USA. He was a writer and producer, known for Men in Crisis (1964), Screenplay Series with Syd Field (2007) and Pour l'amour d'une femme (1994). He was married to Aviva. He died on November 17, 2013 in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA.

  • Syd Field taught Screenwriting at USC Film school during the 1980s. Some of his former students include Trey Callaway, Todd Slavkin, Elisa Bell, David Goyer, John Singleton and Laura Vineyard.
  • He wrote eight best-selling books on screenwriting.
  • He studied English literature at Berkeley, before moving into television. He became a special script consultant for several Hollywood studios.
