Born on Long Island, Bill and his seven siblings grew up in Massapequa, New York. He attended St. John the Baptist D.H.S. where he played football and ice hockey. After the acting bug bit him, Bill attended New York University and the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. In New York, Bill joined the renown fight group - Fights R' Us and performed and choreographed stage fights for theater, film, and soap operas. In 1988, Bill made his Broadway debut in a production of Macbeth starring Christopher Plummer and Glenda Jackson. From 1985-2012, Bill has been seen on The Young and The Restless and many TV series including Desperate Housewives, Friends, Home Improvement, Fraser, The Naked Truth, The Shield, Suddenly Susan, and The West Wing. He also appeared in many films - Blue Streak, Princess Diaries, Aspen Extreme, The Other Sister, The Right Temptation. In 2025 Bill formed Story Flight Productions with his colleague Randall Caldwell. They produce original films, TV series, Stage plays, and literary projects.
