The incomparable Brad Pitt made a heartfelt revelation during an interview with W Magazinein 2012, one people weren't expecting. In the brief clip, he was asked about the films that pull at his heartstrings and make him cry. The Oscar-winning actor tried to keep a cool facade and said he's not much of a crier when it comes to films and that the occasional film might make him tear up, but a full-blown crying session is out of the question. However, one film touched him, and it's not what some people might've expected to hear from Pitt. He revealed that the animated movie How to Train Your Dragon made him cry at the end when Vikings and dragons lived in harmony with each other.
The animated film premiered in 2010 and was directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois. How to Train Your Dragon is a coming-of-age story that follows a young...

Movie lovers, rejoice! Warner Bros. has quietly made 31 full-length movies available to stream for free on YouTube. This move allows viewers to enjoy classic and lesser-known films without a subscription, though they do come with ads unless you have YouTube Premium.
Over the years, Warner Bros. has experimented with different ways to make money from its vast catalog of films. It launched FilmStruck, a subscription streaming service, in 2018, but shut it down less than a year later. Since then, the company has focused on licensing movies to free, ad-supported platforms like Roku and Tubi.
Now, Warner Bros. is trying a new approach—releasing movies directly on YouTube. This move allows the studio to generate revenue through digital ads while making films more accessible to a wider audience.

Over the years, Warner Bros. has tried to monetize its catalog of older movies through different subscription streaming services, including FilmStruck — which it shut down less than a year after it launched in 2018.
Now, Warner Bros. Entertainment has quietly taken a new approach to bringing its content to YouTube to farm its film catalog for digital ad revenue.
Since the start of 2025, the company has released 31 movies on Warner Bros.-owned YouTube channels, all available for free. The movies include ads, unless you are a YouTube Premium subscriber. Warner Bros. has published a YouTube playlist with the free movies, available at this link.
The titles are varied and cut across genres, with some films on the list dating back decades. The movies include “Mutiny on the Bounty” starring Marlon Brando, “The Adventures of Pluto Nash” starring Eddie Murphy, “Oh, God!” featuring George Burns in the titular role, “The Mission” starring Robert De Niro,...

Every viewer has their own opinions about the best cartoons of all time. While all different animated shows have specific aspects that make them appealing to the audience, some cartoons have reached a wider audience and have impacted pop culture.
Cartoons such as Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, and Pokémon have influenced generations of viewers, withstanding the test of time while evolving with modern culture. Others, such as SpongeBob SquarePants and Avatar: The Last Airbender, are great kid shows that even adults enjoy watching. These are some of the most popular cartoons of all time.
Updated on February 3, 2025 by Robert Vaux: Cartoons have become as much an integral part of society as live-action media. They aren't just for children anymore, but people of all ages who enjoy the animated medium. The most popular cartoons make for some of the best television available, and we've updated this list to contain even more of the best cartoons.

It was reported last week that Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan were reprising their roles from the classic rom-com When Harry Met Sally… for a reunion project, and now we know exactly what that project is: a Super Bowl ad co-starring Sydney Sweeney.
Ryan and Crystal starred together in the 1989 Rob Reiner favorite as Harry Burns and Sally Albright, two friends who meet by chance over the years only to finally realize they're attracted to one another. Along the way, audiences were treated to one of the most iconic scenes in cinema, in which Ryan's character fakes an orgasm in a delicatessen.
It's that orgasm scene that Crystal and Ryan reunited to recreate for a Super Bowl Lix commercial for Hellmann's Mayonnaise (seen below), and the results did not disappoint. "I can't believe they let us back in this place," Crystal says as the pair sit once more in New York's Katz's Delicatessen eating sandwiches.

Singer Macy Gray is no stranger to reality TV, but she surprised judges on The Masked Singer UK after her elimination from the competition abruptly became tense.
Before The Masked Singer UK, Macy appeared on MTV's nostalgic reboot of The Surreal Life – The Surreal Life: Villa Of Secrets – which itself was originally something of a spin-off of the network's genre-making The Real World.
The Surreal Life had a twist, though, as we explained back in July:
"The Surreal Life (2003-2006) [originally was] a reality television series that sets a select group of past-their-prime celebrities and records them as they live together in a mansion ... cameras not only record the castmates' participation in group activities assigned to them, but also their interpersonal relationships and conflicts."
Ahead of its 2024 debut, Macy talked a bit about how filming was unexpectedly emotionally taxing.

Multiple women accused The Sandman author Neil Gaiman of s*xual assault, sparking a new controversy in the literary community. It isn’t the first time Gaiman has faced accusations after a July podcast covered the allegations of five women. One of the accusations was raised by his former babysitter, who went into the disturbing details of the assault.

James Corden walked away from The Late Late Show in April 2023. On the surface, it seemed like Corden was bailing on a cushy job that paid well. But the comedian had his reasons ... and a net worth that made the decision a little more understandable.
Corden was a surprise pick to replace Craig Ferguson as host of The Late Late Show in 2014. American audiences were largely unfamiliar with Corden, who had a bigger following in his native United Kingdom.
However, CBS quickly introduced Corden to America. Signature bits like "Carpool Karaoke" and "Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts" brought something new to the late-night TV landscape.
Along the way, Corden earned millions as Late Late Show host and simultaneously appeared in multiple film and TV projects. All totaled, Corden's net worth stands at an estimated $70 million in 2024 (per CelebrityNetWorth).

The new live-action remake How to Train Your Dragon may not be coming to theaters until the summer of 2025, but a new teaser image was just released. Screen Rant shared the new picture, which shows Hiccup (Mason Thames) and Astrid (Nico Parker) hiding from what looks like an intense battle.
The image shared shows Hiccup and Astrid lying together and peering from beneath a wooden palette looking scared, but also a bit curious. It can be seen below.
The Remake Is Directed by the Original Dragon Trilogy Director
The new movie is directed by Dean DeBlois, who also directed the original animated trilogy, which was based on a novel by Cressida Cowell. How to Train Your Dragon fans are still waiting to see Gerard Butler's live-action version of Stoick the Vast in the upcoming reboot, but the actor has teased a portrayal that's faithful to his animated counterpart. Written and directed by Dean DeBlois who directed the original animated version the live-action reboot will re-tread the original story, bringing the titular dragons to life with CGI.
Speaking to Collider to promote his new movie, The Night Before Christmas in Wonderland, Gerard Butler discussed the physical pain of shooting the live-action How to Train Your Dragon in Northern Island during Winter. "It was very cold, and kind of miserable," Butler began.
In the animated version, Stoick the Vast is a hulking, wide-shouldered and barrel-bellied viking with a long beard. His physique is the kind that only works in animation, and Gerard Butler doesn't look much like his animated character. But, the actor...

When an animated property makes the shift to live-action, it's always interesting to see which actors will take on certain characters. The How to Train Your Dragon franchise, for instance, is coming to life in a big live-action way next year, and while some of the voice actors from the franchise will be continuing into live-action, other new actors are being cast as replacements. Instead of the older Jay Baruchel, who voices the young lead character Hiccup, the new film will star Mason Thames. And instead of Craig Ferguson, Stoick's best friend, Gobber the Belch, will be played by Nick Frost, the lovable writer and actor from Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Hyperspace, and the newly released film Black Cab.

Craig Ferguson was charisma incarnate during his tenure on The Late Late Show. He may not have been as irreverent as David Letterman or as beloved as Conan O'Brien, but those in the know, knew that Ferguson was the real deal.
He seemingly had chemistry with every guest who went on his show. Well, most every guest. He went on Watch What Happens with Andy Cohen towards the end of his tenure in 2014, and admitted a lone instance in which he struggled with a guest. He told Andy Cohen that he it was the worst encounter he had on The Late Late Show, but admits he played a role in things going so poorly.
Ferguson cited Macy Gray as his worst guest
The guest in question was R&b singer Macy Gray. She appeared on The Late Late Show in 2005, which was the first season in which Ferguson served as host.

David Letterman is a talk show legend. He's commonly cited as one of the best to ever do it, and that's by people like Craig Ferguson and Conan O'Brien, who are also among the best to ever do it. That doesn't mean Letterman was/is infallible, though.
There have been lots of compilations of David Letterman doing questionable things on his show, or putting his guests on the spot in ways that would be considered inappropriate today. The incident that proved most harrowing, however, happened offscreen.
Letterman accidentally threw a baseball out of a window
Letterman hosted Late Night with David Letterman from 1982 to 1993, before switching over to The Late Show. It was during a random day on the set of Late Night that he and producer Mary Connelly decided to pass the time by throwing baseball around in the office.

Much of the recent criticism of Hollywood comes from the seemingly endless stream of reboots and remakes. The world of cinema is making a vain attempt to exploit a played-out property, like making an eighth Children of the Corn sequel or rebooting the original twice, which sadly actually happened.
The movie business is generally geared toward making money, which is why studios favor proven properties over fresh ideas, but recycling established films and franchises doesn't always make sound financial sense. Cranking out more MCU films is a no-brainer, but there are tons of confirmed upcoming sequels and reboots that nobody asked for.

In the upcoming fantasy comedy, Frost is set to play the role of Gobber the Belch, who was originally voiced by Craig Ferguson in the blockbuster animated franchise.
During a recent interview with Collider, Frost shared how much he enjoyed working with lead star Mason Thames, who's playing live-action Hiccup. Jay Leno is not the most beloved host in Tonight Show history. The competition is stiff, of course, but his handling of the Conan O'Brien situation was, for many, difficult to overlook. Despite his behind the scenes antics, though, Leno was a tireless host who held down the Tonight Show desk for over two decades.
You don't get hired, then rehired, to host the most famous talk show in the world without being good at it. That said, Jay Leno wasn't always on his A-game. The comedian was asked whether he ever got bored during interviews during an appearance on The Late Late Show in 2014, and he admitted that one guest in particular made job very difficult.

Exclusive: Here’s a really cool project that just got greenlit at DC Studios and Warner Bros Pictures Animation: Dynamic Duo.
It will mark the first joint project between DC Studios and the Bill Damaschke-led Wbpa.
The 6th & Idaho movie scripted by Matthew Aldrich is being made by a new animation studio out of New Orleans named Swaybox and that studio’s husband-and-wife creators Arthur Mintz and Theresa Andersson. Mintz will direct this movie, which follows the early days of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd aka the Robins.
Note the storyline here isn’t connected to Matt Reeves’ Batman and The Penguin canon.
Swaybox uses a technology known as “Momo animation,” which is a cross between CGI animation, practical elements of stop-motion, and live-action real-time performance. The result is long-form storytelling billed as visually breathtaking, dynamically expressive and more human.

Casting Sharon Newman Was A Challenge
Monica Potter was the first person to play Sharon on Young & Restless. She went on to star in NBC’s Parenthood. However, she acknowledged that she wasn’t good on the soap.
“I was fired because I was terrible,” Monnica told Craig Ferguson on The Late Show in 2010. Then, she was replaced by Heidi Mark. Heidi is best known as Playboy‘s Miss July 1995. She was also married to Vince Neil from Motley Crue.

Haliey Welch and West Wilson went on a date for Complex's bite-sized new reality show, West Date Ever. Despite a viral rumor, Haliey values being known by her actual name, not as "Mrs. Hawk." West wanted to help Haliey move past the "Hawk Tuah" meme, and the pair really seemed to make a connection.
Summer House star West Wilson and the "Hawk Tuah" girl (Haliey Welch) went on a date for a new reality TV project by media company Complex.
In addition to Complex's new reality show, Haliey has been trending lately due to a viral, satirical tweet's false claim:

James Corden's career took a hit after leaving The Late Late Show, with many people disliking him due to his on-screen personality and reported off-camera conduct. Despite the hatred, Corden left the show to be closer to his family in London and give his kids a fun upbringing. No controversial reasons for his departure were stated.

Per TVLine, The Drew Carey Show has been quietly added to Plex where it's streaming for free. All nine seasons are included and the only real caveat is that it's ad-supported streaming. A total of 233 episodes were produced for the show from when it first debuted on Sept. 13, 1995, until it ended its run on Sept. 8, 2004. The beloved 90s sitcom The Drew Carey Show is finally available to stream online, much to the delight of its devoted fans. After years of navigating hurdles, viewers can now binge all nine seasons of the show for absolutely no charge on Plex, which is an ad-supported streaming service. This marks the first time the series has been accessible on a streaming platform.
Drew Carey has worked tirelessly to bring the show online so that it can be a nostalgic trip down memory lane for long-time fans and a new experience for first-time viewers. In a June interview with TV Insider, he revealed the challenges he was facing in the process of securing the rights to stream the series.
Its not in syndication because of music rights and stuff. Were going to try to change that around and get it back out there. Its pretty funny, and a lot of its kind of timeless.

When James Corden took over The Late Late Show from Craig Ferguson in 2015, he feared that he didn’t have what it takes to be a top host in late-night comedy — and it only took him eight years to confirm it.
After Corden left CBS early last year, he returned to his roots back in his home country of England to the relief of his many American haters. Right now, Corden is in the middle of a run at the historic Old Vic theater in London in the political drama The Constituent, and on top of that, he and his Gavin & Stacey team are putting on one final Christmas special for the breakout British TV show that first put Corden on the international entertainment map.
With all that going on, Corden seemed to be content leaving America and American comedy well enough alone while he revisits what excited him as...

Jonathan Morano, a Peabody Award-winning writer of CBS’ The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, died peacefully June 20 at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles following a 15-month battle with Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor. He was 56.
His death was announced by his wife Aimee Blisten.
Born December 23, 1967, in St. Helens, Merseyside, England, Morano began his writing career with a grant and a fellowship from Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Films for his dramatic screenplay Benjamin Garrett at the 2003 Tribeca Film Festival.
Two years later, he was writing for The Late Late Show, where he’d work for the next 10 years, moving from writer to writing supervisor and, during his final two seasons with the program, as head writer. Although Ferguson left the show in 2014, Morano stayed on with the show writing for various guest hosts until James Corden took over as host in March 2015.

In the brief period between the end of Craig Ferguson’s tenure as the host of CBS’s Late Late Show and when James Corden picked up the reins as its host in early 2015, the Eye had a random smattering of guest hosts take over to avoid an extended period of reruns. Though many of those episodes were standard, unremarkable late-night fare, one of them still stands out nearly a decade later. Hosted by actor-comedian Adam Pally, with fellow comic and friend Ben Schwartz serving as his sidekick, the result was a hilarious and inexplicable hour of television that has to be seen to be believed.

During a recent interview with Screen Rant, Baruchel offered some words of encouragement to the live-action cast of How to Train Your Dragon, advising them to just enjoy the moment of being a part of something special. “I know that those kids hopefully have a good adventure in store for them," he said. Late-night talk shows were like home when I was a teenager. Social anxieties could disappear, bullies were non-existent, and the humorous, non-consequential words of the hosts would calm me down after a stressful day at school. The comedians who took over TV after 11:35 Pm welcomed me into a universe I belonged to, a complete contrast from the social outcasting I felt in the classroom walls. I could live vicariously through their jokes and joyful scenarios in which the audience cheered and clapped, and nobody’s confidence was shattered by a lousy joke.
Along with Craig Ferguson, Conan O’Brien was a nightly weekday highlight. Conan’s spastic impressions and self-deprecating pokes were a warm fire in front of the TV, a silly distraction for me and so many of his viewers who loved to gather around his aura every night on NBC and then TBS at the dawn of the decade.

Three former late-night stars — or, apparently, “kings” — are sharing a stage together later this year.
Jay Leno, Craig Ferguson, and Arsenio Hall are presenting a night of standup that’s being billed as the “Kings of Late Night.” The trio will perform at the retro-themed San Diego County Fair on June 21, and again at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA, on September 28.
While some might hesitate to call anyone but Johnny Carson a “king” of the genre, the three comics are certainly some of the biggest names in late-night history.
Leno helmed NBC’s Tonight Show twice — from 1992-2009, and again from 2010-2014. Ferguson hosted the CBS 12:30 franchise The Late Late Show from 2005-2014, and Hall’s syndicated Arsenio Hall Show ran from 1989-1994, with a short-lived revival between 2013-2014.
While there are only two dates currently on the books, we could see more, as the three comics have hit the road together before.

However, for many, he will always be the iconic Thomas Shelby. Murphy breathed life into the character and it was possible due to his immense talent and hard work. The Emmy Awards often fail to recognize talented writers and actors, leading to significant snubs throughout the years. Several acclaimed TV shows, such as BoJack Horseman and Better Call Saul, have never won Emmy Awards for their outstanding performances and writing. Many beloved actors, including Steve Carell, Amy Poehler, and Sandra Oh, have been consistently nominated but have never won an Emmy for their iconic roles.
The Emmy Awards for the television industry have failed to recognize writers and actors of some of the best TV shows of all time. The Wire never being named Outstanding Drama Series is possibly the biggest snub in Emmy history. Actors including Angela Lansbury, Hugh Laurie, and Martin Sheen also never won an Emmy for their most praised TV performances. The Emmys' arbitrary awarding system has continued into the 2010s and 2020s.
In some ways, who wins an Emmy is a matter of subjective opinion.
