She made her television debut in 1994 as a contestant on Blind Date hosted by Cilla Black.

[on her 1994 TV debut on Blind Date (1985)] I just went on the programme for fun, but I got a real taste for television. I was spoiled, really, as on the show I saw only the good things about the industry. I was doing an interview on radio about Blind Date and how I now wanted to work in television. Then literally a week later, someone who had heard the interview asked me to audition for a programme. Six weeks after Blind Date had transmitted, I got my first presenting job.
