Gina Birch Announces New Album Trouble, Shares “Causing Trouble Again”: Stream

Gina Birch, post-punk legend and co-founder of the Raincoats, has announced a new solo album, Trouble, out July 11th via Third Man Records. As a preview, Birch also shared the lead single, “Causing Trouble Again,” accompanied by a music video featuring a collective of female artists.

Trouble is Birch’s follow-up to her 2023 solo debut album, I Play My Bass Loud. The new project features 11 songs “fusing post-punk, dub, experimental rock, and more,” according to a press release. The LP was produced by Killing Joke’s Youth and engineered/mixed by Michael Rendall, both of whom worked on I Play My Bass Loud.

Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV’s Breyer P-Orridge, one of the architects of industrial music, died on Saturday. The songwriter, performer, occultist, and activist was 70.

“Dear friends, family and loving supporters, it is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Genesis Breyer P-Orridge,” Genesis’s daughters, Genesse and Caresse P-Orridge announced in a statement on Instagram. “S/he had been battling leukemia for two and a half years and dropped her body early this morning, Saturday 14th March, 2020. S/he will be laid to rest with h/er other half, Jacqueline ‘Lady Jaye’ Breyer who left us in 2007, where they will be re-united.”

Andrew Hulme to direct ‘Art, Sex, Music’ about UK performance artist Cosey Fanni Tutti (exclusive)
The biopic will blend dramatic elements with Cosey’s art and music.

UK director Andrew Hulme, whose credits include Snow In Paradise and The Devil Outside, is to make Art, Sex, Music, a biopic about Cosey Fanni Tutti, the outrageous and controversial UK performance artist, stripper and musician.

Cosey was co-founder of experimental rock and art group, Throbbing Gristle. The film is loosely based on Cosey’s autobiography, Art Sex Music and Cosey has co-written the screenplay with Hulme.

Throbbing Gristle announces release date for Nico tribute album
Industrial band Throbbing Gristle has announced the completion of its long-awaited tribute to Nico’s Desertshore. The record will be released November 26, two years after the death of band member Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson, who conceived the idea for the project in 2006. Bandmates Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti decided to finish work on the album after Christopherson’s death.
